WHEN DO YOU PAY? As stated in the TERMS portion of the auction text, your payment is to be postmarked within 5 days of auction close. Delay may affect my feedback for you (see MY FEEDBACK? below) and/or your eligibility to participate in my future auctions. I have too many things going on to be playing with an auction months after it closed (yes, it happens). On the other hand, I don't think it's fair to penalize you if the postal service takes several weeks or longer to deliver your promptly mailed payment. That's why I rely on the postmark... it proves you are not to blame. (I cringe when I read auctions saying "Negative feedback will be posted if payment is not received within 10 days.") I believe my method is the fairest way to deal with the shortcomings of the US Postal Service. Oh, and if you are drifting on a raft in the South Pacific when you place your bid (through the marvels of technology) and aren't sure when the next tramp steamer will be by to pick up your payment-laden letter (or some other much more likely situation that prevents you from complying with the 5-day stipulation), let me know--I'm not unreasonable.
DO I HAVE A RETURN POLICY? If the merchandise is printed matter (bound or unbound), the answer is no. For all other items, unless stated otherwise in the auction or in an e-mail reply to your inquiry, I will refund your winning bid price on anything you're unhappy with providing it's returned within 7 days of receipt and it's in the same condition it was in when I mailed it, complete with any and all items which may have accompanied it (e.g., original box and packing material, promotional literature, certificates of authenticity, accessories, etc.). You pay the postage on returned merchandise. I strongly encourage you to insure it also. I will dispatch a refund check within 48 hours of receiving what you return providing the above conditions are met.
WHAT IF THE MERCHANDISE IS DAMAGED IN TRANSIT OR NEVER ARRIVES? Well, that's why I suggest you purchase insurance! Since insurance is not an option on merchandise going outside the U.S., overseas bidders bid at their own risk and assume any and all liability for lost or damaged merchandise. I am not responsible for anything after it leaves my possession, regardless of destination. If this is a concern, I recommend Registered Mail.
MY FEEDBACK? If your payment is prompt and processed with no "advisories" from the bank, you will receive favorable feedback shortly after I mail your merchandise. If payment is not mailed within 5 days of auction close, do not expect to participate in any of my future auctions because I usually initiate the bidder block option on those who fail to comply with the auction terms. If you bounce a check off of me, you may expect unfavorable feedback and a non-paying bidder report to eBay--which usually results is a STRIKE. I may also leave either unfavorable feedback or no feedback at all for those: (1) from whom I receive no reply after four successive attempts at contact (even if I receive a response to my initial advisory and even if payment subsequently arrives); or (2) from whom I have not received payment after 30 days. This latter will also earn a NON-PAYING BIDDER report to eBay (I deem a month more than enough time for you to achieve success from what should have been several attempts to get money into my hands!). Impolite or uncivil (i.e., vulgar, obscene, or profane) language also earns adverse feedback, and the transaction will be terminated and the guilty party will be blocked from bidding in my future auctions. But that's those other nasty folks, not you, so let's get back to you...
YOUR FEEDBACK FOR ME? I expect you to leave honest feedback that will be beneficial to other prospective bidders. I won't pester you or beg you for feedback because I don't NEED the feedback--it's the other eBay patrons who will benefit from reading your opinion of our recent transaction.
POST-AUCTION CONTACT: You will receive my contact information, along with other pertinent information, in a message/invoice within 24 hours of auction close. This may be a personal message direct from me and/or an invoice via eBay. Regardless of source, I expect to hear from the winning bidder within 48 hours of the auction's end, acknowledging receipt and providing/confirming his or her name and mailing address. I combine S&H on multiple auctions; the additional amount is probably (but not always) stated in the auction. Also, my contact info is provided in each and every one of my auctions so you probably have all the information you need to dispatch payment immediately after an auction closes without having to wait to hear from me.
