Why is the On-Line Store named ShoppeTwenty3?
Our family has a unique tie to the Number 23:
My Grandmother, Mother, Brother, Husband, Daughter and Myself were all born on the 23rd of different months, and my Mom was born in 1923!
Staying with that theme, our daughter recently married on September 23rd.

 Presentation Matters: Nicely Boxed
We are very careful about packaging and shipping:
Size permitting, your jewelry pieces will be tucked within an organza bag and nicely packaged up in an appropriate sized gift box.
Multiple Item orders will be treated the same, with each item having an individual box.  The boxes are then wrapped in tissue and stacked within a shipping box.
The items not only ship safely, but the packaging makes for easy gift giving.

Pearl Necklace Length Tips

Collar

Pearl Collar Necklaces — 12 to 13 inches long

Pearl collars are usually made up of three or more pearl strands and lie snugly on the middle of the neck. Very Victorian and luxurious, pearl collars go best with elegant V-neck, boat neck or off the shoulder fashions.

Choker

Pearl Choker Necklaces — 14 to 16 inches long

A pearl choker is perhaps the most classic and yet versatile of all the single strand pearl lengths. A simple pearl choker can go with virtually any outfit from casual to fancy evening wear, and just about any neckline imaginable. A 16 inch pearl choker necklace is the most popular length for pearl necklaces.

Princess

Pearl Princess Necklaces — 17 to 19 inches long

The princess length pearl necklace is best suited for crew and high necklines. It also compliments low plunging necklines. It's perfect support for a pendant or pearl enhancer. An 18 inches pearl princess necklaces is the second most popular length for pearl necklaces.

Matinee

Pearl Matinee Necklaces — 20 to 24 inches long

Longer than the pearl princess necklace, and just a bit shorter than an opera length pearl necklace, the matinee pearl necklace is the right choice for casual or business dress.

Opera

Pearl Opera Necklaces — 28 to 34 inches long

The pearl opera necklace is the queen of all lengths. When worn as a single pearl strand, it is refined and perfect for high or crew necklines. When doubled upon itself, it serves as a versatile two strand pearl choker.

Rope

Pearl Opera Rope Necklaces — Over 45 inches long

Dripping with elegance and sensuously sexy, the pearl rope was a favorite of Coco Chanel. For those looking for the complete pearl wardrobe, this length is a must.

Necklines Styles

Bateau

This style sweeps across your collarbone to the edge of your shoulders.

Try one or two strands worn close to your throat.

Halter

This is a difficult neckline to accessorize with a necklace because most styles will touch the neckline at some point. You may want to consider working with earrings instead of a necklace.

Jewel

This is a high rounded neckline that sits next to your throat.

Most necklace lengths and styles will work well.

Low Back

Consider accenting your back with a back dangle or a lariat tied in back.

Open Collar

Try a chunky necklace that will stand out behind the collar.

Scoop

This is a U-shaped neckline that may or may not mimic the U in the back.

Multiple strands that fill in the U go well with this style.

Square Neck

Try to avoid anything to angular, an easy curving shape in a choker or princess length should work well.

Strapless

Anything close to the neck (under 18 inches) works well. Consider a choker or princess style, Y-drop, tin-cup necklace, pearls or a necklace with a back dangle.

Avoid necklaces that “crowd” the neckline. But for something unique consider a very long pendant.

Turtleneck

Any of the longer strands will work well.

V-Neck

Consider imitating the V lines with a Y-drop, pendant or solitaire.

BODY TYPE CONSIDERATIONS

  • Older women should wear longer necklaces to draw attention away from any necklines or imperfections. They can also get away with bigger and wider chains.
  • Chokers and shorter necklace styles are appropriate for younger women due to their youthful skin.
  • If you have a wider neck, it's best to buy longer chains or graduated necklaces, which are very thin around the neck and larger below the collarbone.
  • For long, thin necks, try multiple strand necklaces, with the shortest strand hugging the base of the throat. Shorter, rounder necklaces also work well. Avoid V-shaped chains as well as long, thin necklaces that accentuate the thinness of the neck.
