Forever Flowers By Irene

Welcome to my About me page.

Here I would like to tell you a little bit about myself.

I have been a professional Seamstress, for over 25 Yrs.  I have owned my own business since 1990. Since then I have learned how to do floral arrangements and Floral Desinging. I learned this trade at the age of 24 from a woman that gave me my first break in this area.  After just one year, it became apparant to her that I would be her competitor one day.  I was in the middle of a divorce and needed to find a better paying job.  I went to one of her competitors to fill out applications.  They hired me on the spot, but I asked them to let me give 2 weeks notice.  They agreed and admired me for wanting to do the responsible thing.  I went to my employer and gave my notice.  They gave me the "I'm Sorry to see you go" story.  The owner of the shop called me that night and told me Not to come back to work!!  I was blown away over this.  I needed the work.

I went to work at my new job that paid me $1 more per hour,  for less work.  Plus I began to earn commission.  This new boss (Mrs. Davis) was the Best....I worked for her for 6 yrs.  While there,  after 2 months got my promised raise of $3 more per hour.  Mrs. Davis  took good care of me.  She appreciated my hard work and desire to be the best and get the most out of my life.  She would even pay me extra to do personal alterations for her.  She knew since I was a single mom, I needed the extra income.

In May of 1990, Mrs. Davis  passed away.  I was forced to make some drastic decisions.  I did.  I opened my own Bridal Shop Boutique.  The first lady I worked for went out of business.  Her greed got the best of her.  I am still working for myself.  I give all my thanks to Mrs. Davis.   She believed in me, helped me, and I became a better person for that.

Now that I have my own place (since 1990) I vowed to treat all my customers like I learned from Mrs. Davis.  Treat everyone exactly how  you would like to be treated.  Never ever be rude.  Go the extra mile.  Even when you know the customer is being a PITA.

Those words made an impact not only in my line of work, but my life as well.

This is something I wanted to share with you.  I learned from the very best about how to treat your customers.  I have now been in business for myself for over 18 years.  Still going strong.  Still working to make every buyer happy.  Making sure that my buyers appreciate the effort of going the extra mile.

I now have a Website as well as selling on eBay.

Although I can not give you my Website address here (it's against eBay policy).

You can request it from me.

Please read my Feedback score.  I have very good feedbacks.  That is just one of the signs on how you can tell how reputable a seller is,  and how well they communicate with there buyers.

Since eBay willl not educate new buyers how things work on eBay, I feel I should do just a small part of what We the Sellers pay eBay for.

We pay Listing fees:

This is the advertisement of the item you are looking at.  We pay those fees.  You the buyer pays nothing for the use buying our items.  All you pay for is what you purchased

Then we pay a percentage of what the item sells for.

After we have already paid the listing fee, we get charged a percentage of what our item sells for.  So if you change your mind and don't pay, we get charged.  We have to file for our FVF to be refunded, because you changed your  mind.  Then you get mad because we are just trying to recoupe our money and turn around and give us Negatives.  Not Fair.  Why should we keep paying fees when you, the buyers change your minds?  Again, you the buyer pays nothing except what you bought.

Then we pay a percentage for your use of Paypal.

In order to make your buying experience easier for you, we accept paypal for you to make your payment to us.  You are not charged a fee.  We, the sellers are charged a fee to give you the convenience of buying.

Feedback......

You should not leave feedback as a way of communication.

You should give your seller every opportunity to make things right.

If all comes out in a satisfactory manner.  Thist is when you should leave feedback.

If you feel that you had to go out of your way to rectify a problem, then maybe eBay is not for you.  Don't get me wrong.  There are good buyers and there are bad buyers.

Good buyers are the type of people that respect the fact that human error can occur, and are willing to work with the seller to make things right.  That seller deserves every right to be given the opportunity to correct his/her error.  Once this is done, Good Feedback is warranted.

Bad buyers are those who don't/won't communicate, won't compromise, have buyer's remorse and want to place the blame the seller knowing that they didn't read the entire listing, or didn't understand it, yet will not accept responsibility.  Then turn around to leave bad Feedback without even bothering to try to work with seller.  Bad Buyers should stay away from eBay.

When leaving feedback and DSR.

You are not exactly rating just the PRODUCT, you are rating the entire transaction.

Please keep that in mind when leaving Feedback for us sellers.

eBay  does not inform you that any rating of 4 or below is considered very bad.

Although it looks to be a good number to leave, it reall isn't

If you don’t understand or do want to use the DSR, just leave a Positive.

If you feel a negative or Neutral is warranted, try resolving the problem with your seller first.  Give us that opportunity.

Feedback is Voluntary…you don’t have to leave it if you don’t want to.

Remember this as well.  Whatever type of feedback that you leave, reflects on you as a buyer as well.  If you leave bad feedback before trying to work things out will reflect on you as a buyer.  We can read the comments you leave for others and can determine how well you work with your seller in the event of a problem.

eBay does not tell you that either.

Shipping and Handling:

Please understand that Shipping costs is not just Postage.  There is usually a Handling fee as well.

We pay for New boxes, tape, printing invoices, labels, employees, bubble wrap, peanuts, etc..etc.  You get the idea.

Then theres transit time.  You have to know that once we ship out the item, it is now out of our hands on how long it takes to get to you from our location.

Once we print the label, we drop off packages with shipper.  That, is when you should take into consideration who is doing their job.  Whether is us or them.

Don't penalize us for them not doing their job.  Please don't blame that on us.

 About DSR's :

Bad DSR ratings for slow shipping should not be blamed on the sellers.

DSR's affect how we get charged on ebay and how well our items are viewed.

Bad DSR's  (4 or below) rates us to the bottom of the viewing list.

Good DSR's put us back where we belong.

If you feel you are being overcharge for the shipping.  Don't bid or buy.  It's that simple. That is your choice of power.   How is it our fault that you agreed to the shipping fees, and decided to complain later when you see the label to show less than you paid?  Remember, there are other considerations that take place.  Not just postage.  You didn't get your item without a box, protection, shipping label, etc... correct?

Bad buyers are taking over the eBay (buying/selling) experience.  With more bad buyers, the good sellers are looking elswhere to sell.   Who blames them?

Soon eBay will lose all the good sellers and will be filled with bad sellers for you to deal with.  Don't let it come to that.

Be Responsible:

Just makes good sense to leave positive feedback where deserved.

Leave only Negative when you have done what is your responsibility to contact your seller to let them know there is a problem.  Give them  the opportunity to make things right.

If they refuse to work with you, you have rights.

IF there is a satisfactory outcome.  Leave them Positive Feedback.

If you still feel that you are not sure how you feel about the transaction.  Don't leave feedback at all.  You have 60 days to do that.  Give it time to sink in.  Afterall, It is voluntary.

See ??  What eBay doesn't inform you about??

Just be fair!!

Oh.....One last thing....

Since sellers can no longer leave Negative to buyers no matter what.

eBay has created MONSTER BUYERS.  This is hurting everyone.

But we, the responsible sellers can still find out who the bad guys are and rest assured, we will put them on our Block Bidder List.

If you are blocked from bidding or buying.  Take a good look at the feedbacks that you are leaving for your sellers.  This is how we read you.  This is your signature card.

Now you know why eBay omits to inform you.

They just want our money (the sellers), because buyers don't pay fees.

They don't care what it takes to get it.  Because we the sellers are paying up the wahoo whether we sell our items or not.  And even sometimes when the buyer changes their mind.

Don't believe me?
