A and T Myrtlewood is a partnership of two couples that have a myrtlewood shop on the Oregon Coast. Their partnership started when they became friends over 40 years ago in Idaho. They went into business together and were self employed in several business ventures there. They moved to Oregon in 1984 and started the myrtlewood shop on the coast.
99% of the items they feature in their store is made by them right there. Myrna Austin does most of the hand painted plaques and John Austin is the resident wood carver and wood crafter and assisting in all phases of production are Sandie and Loyd Todd.
They get their logs delivered to the front drive way and then cut it down and stack it out of the way until it is sawn on their own saw mill and cut into lumber, carving blocks, clock and table blanks, gun stocks, etc. and use it to make their products and also sell to home crafters.
Pine Needle Baskets
Myrna also makes pine needle and horse hair baskets which are available in the shop too. Some are very elaborate with wood incorporated into them. She also makes miniature baskets.
