The mission of Alameda County Health Care Foundation (ACHCF), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, based in Oakland, California, is to raise funds and generate community support for the Alameda County Medical Center (ACMC).

Established in 1990, the Foundation embarked on a Capital Campaign in 1999 to equip the new Critical Care and Clinics building at the Alameda County Medical Center, Highland Hospital Campus, with state-of-the-art equipment. This will enable staff to continue serving quality health care services to the community.

This five-story, 143,000 square foot facility, which will open in January 2004, is also the designated Trauma Center for the Northern Alameda County. Traumatic injuries occurring anywhere between Albany in the North and San Leandro to the South, from the East Bay hills west to Treasure Island including the busy San Francisco-Oakland traffic corridor come by ambulance to Highland.

Take a moment to honor, celebrate, or show your appreciation to a special person in your life by participating in the Medallion Program.

The Medallion Program was designed to provide you with a way to give to the Alameda County Medical Center by commemorating friends and loved ones with a personalized medallion.

The medallion is a brushed stainless steel disk, 6 inches in diamater and 1/4 inch thick, which will be inscribed with the name of your honoree. The medallion will be inlaid in the walkway of the front entry of the new Critical Care and Clinics Building on the Highland Hospital campus, which opens in January, 2004.

Through the purchase of a medallion, you will create a permanent remembrance in the most visible area of the Medical Center. This unique giving opportunity will honor you or your loved one, while helping support the work of the Alameda County Medical Center in this time of urgent need.
