I am an artist and teacher who lived in Asia for ten years after receiving my M.A. in Drawing and Painting from CSULB and working for a year and a half as an Artist in Residence for the city of Long Beach, where I designed, produced, and installed a 196-piece tile mural in the Bayshore Branch Library. While living overseas, I exhibited my paintings in Los Angeles, New York, and Taipei at the Chinese Cultural Centers in the US, the National Museum of History in Taipei, and the American Club in China.
Before moving overseas, I collected 30's 40's 50's kitsch, deco, and "stuff." Overseas, I collected a variety of items, jewelry, netsuke, ceramics, scrolls, and furniture.
Now I'm collecting space, which means ebay bidders are set for buying items that were old when I bought them 15-25 years ago and which have been in my possession since. Most of the things I put up for sale I'm happy to keep if they don't sell, in which case, I've won the right to keep them, fair and square.
I've also been selling off books I collected for classroom and/or classroom reference use -- some I have multiple copies of.
Lately (Fall 2002 to present), I've been in Frida-mania. I have some older Frida-related items from when I first began studying her work, adjunct to my Spanish studies, and some newer items I've gotten to read and pass on. I have linoleum cuts of Frida and and hope to have other Mexican national cultural heroes finished soon for auction here, as I'm not teaching at the present time.
Even more recently, Spring 2003 to the present, I have jumped feet first into doll-mania, repainting and redressing dolls, so I have a lot of items out of sets that I bought for the dolls or specific things within the sets that I am making available to people here. I'm especially interested in My Scene dolls and in the future will have some repaints up for sale. In the meantime, I've been fabricating wonderful 1940's style fur chubs for them: the Adrian look -- some of which you may see for sale here for using in dressing your own OOAK dolls before you see them on fully costumed OOAK repaints. Smart money says, snatch up those furs now, as they'll cost more in an ensemble! I'm selling them at rock-bottom prices to recoup some of my investment costs of the last few months.
Please note that if I have not received payment within 10 days of close of auction, the item may be relisted and your late payment sent back to you).
