We are a small business, and started by selling quality used books.  We still have many hundreds to list within the store, so please bear with us as we get this big job done!  We started selling on Ebay mid January of 2006.  EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE is our #1 goal.  If you are looking for a particular book, and don't see it yet, please email us - we might have it and not have it listed yet.

In 2006 we added AUTHENTIC WEST COAST NATIVE CARVINGS to our store.  We were representing several local native carvers, but it was not a mutually satisfactory arrangement.  We are sorry to say that for the moment, we will not be selling these items. 

Hi, this is the "About Me" page for Highitesbooksandmore maintained by amustlobudget.  We started business in January of 2006.  As we grow, we hope that you continue to enjoy our store.  Our goal is to supply the store with good quality used books, and an honest well researched description and price. 

In 2006 we added AUTHENTIC WEST COAST CEDAR CARVINGS TO OUR STORE - however for the time being, this is not working for us.  If we are able to find quality carvers who would like to work with us, it is possible that they might be added again in the future.

The following is a list of information that you will need to know about our store:

• SHIPPING: unless requested, we ship all books via Canada Post Small Packet Surface Mail to the US and International up to 1 Kilo in weight. Over that weight, they must be shipped via Expedited Parcel Post.  If a book or magazine is very thin, it is usually cheaper to ship Letter Rate. All items mailed within Canada must now go Expedited Mail as it is the same price as Parcel Post, but quicker and has insurance and tracking.  You will find our shipping costs clearly explained within each listing.
• All Carvings will be shipped by either Express Post or Expedited Post with Insurance and Tracking.  We will use which ever rate gives you the best deal. 
• If books are very large or irregular in size, it is often cheaper to ship via Expedited Post, and will always give you that option if it works out better for you.  I weigh every item including the paperwork and mailer and that "gram" weight is listed in our description within the listing for all items.  You will find prices for all shipping quoted in US dollars within our listing description.
• Every book is wrapped in an individual plastic cover and shipped in a bubble wrap envelope.
• We offer shipping discounts for multiple same-day purchases.  This information is located within each listing.  FOR LARGE ORDERS OR COMPLICATED PACKAGING, THERE WILL BE AN APPROPRIATE HANDLING CHARGE.
• Our "Feedback" shows that our customers have been very happy with our shipping and packaging.
• We offer the service of GIFT WRAPPING your item for gift giving and sending to a third party for you once paid for.  Please advise prior to invoicing if this is a service that you are interested in.
• FOR BOOKS WE USE THE FOLLOWING GRADING SYSTEM:
• MINT - like new
• FINE - Almost like new
• NEAR FINE - Better than VG, but not quite Fine
• VERY GOOD (VG) minor signs of wear - the book could have one or two minor flaws, but no major ones.
• GOOD - well used - a few minor flaws, chipping, edgewear, cover wear, light soiling, rubbing, possibly some wear to the jacket, chipping, rubbing, a small tear or two.
• GOOD USED: This book will show quite a bit of wear, separation, light water damage, corners bumped, bookplates, etc.
• USED-POOR - I would only list a book in this condition if I considered it valuble in some aspect other than as a whole book.  It could be for the drawings, pictures or information that someone might find valuable.  It would have to be a very special instance for me to list a book in this condition.  It would have major wear, be falling apart, have water damage, etc.
• I give very accurate descriptions of our items within the listing description.  If you have any questions, please email us.  Please read the description carefully, I try to give you all the necessary information for you to accurately assess what you are purchasing.
• Our items are all listed honestly along with a good photograph (not stock photo) and are sold "as is".
• Canada Post offers insurance for up to $100.00 with postage to all destinations. For items over $100.00 we automatically will calculate the cost of extra insurance into the shipping charges.
• We will leave negative feedback for non--paying bidders.  This keeps everyone honest and Ebay a good place to do business in.  We have given you all the information up-front and non-paying should not be an issue.
• I hope that this answers all the "niggly" and pertinent questions that you might have about the way our store runs.  This list will get edited from time to time to keep you up-to-date on what we are doing.
