Shipping, Handling & Insurance

I state the costs of shipping and handling in all of my listings. This price will cover shipping to most places in the continental USA, exempting Hawaii and Alaska. I do note that shipping to rural areas may be slightly higher. If you live on an Island in Upper Michigan or on a ranch in Wyoming, Fedex charges more to deliver your packages. I use Fedex for all shipments except books and printed matter such as postcards or manuscripts. As prices for shipping can vary from the West to the East, my shipping costs are an average. In some cases after packing and printing labels, I find that shipping to your address was less than my estimate: in those instances, I do a refund via paypal. I include insurance on all of my shipments via Fedex.

On articles shipped via USPS there is no insurance included and winning bidders need to advise me that they wish to purchase insurance and I will quote prices. If purchases are under $500. I do not require a signature upon delivery, it is the responsibility of the buyer to supply a safe and secure delivery address, as once it is turned over to the shipper, it is your property. If Fedex leaves your purchase on your front porch and it is stolen, you need to claim on your homeowners insurance, as the shippers insurance only covers your items during transit. Some buyers choose to use their work addresses to receive their purchases, others arrange to have their packages delivered to shipping centers, still others pay additional for "signature on delivery" to ensure that they are home when their purchase is delivered. This normally costs an additional $3.50.

I am a PayPal approved Seller and Paypal has a program of buyer and seller protections when you use Paypal. They do require that all items be shipped to a confirmed address to qualify for these protections. That is why I also require confirmed addresses for shipping, this protects my shoppers and myself. For information on "Confirmed Addresses" please contact Paypal. In the case of a shopper without a confirmed address wanting to shop in my store, they would need to make arrangements with me, in advance of winning a bid or making a purchase, to pay by US Postal Money Order.
