It's so nice to meet you!
It's come to my attention that some eBayers who have stopped by my auctions or store have been less than "secure and sure" about Aunt Hagatha...and I wanted to put those of you at ease who don't "trust or who can't quite figure out" my presence here on eBay. To put your minds and hearts at rest, please know that Aunt Hagatha, down deep, is just another soul trying to make an honest living... "I just dress up my show a little differently." Like Dolly said, "it takes a lot of money and time to look this cheap." So don't worry about whats on the "outside" look within and see the real person, a believer in all that is good and right in light and peace.
The Countess Ha'gatha DeLoncre, a.k.a. Aunt Hagatha is one of chc associates' (hlcmtn) many clients and talents. She and her mother Maum Cretia Daufay created Aunt Hagatha's Devine Finds & Designs back in 1988 and have been collecting all kinds of treasures since...(some of the newer ones from eBay sellers and our new eBay family of friends) which are now premiering in her new eBay store and auctions.
Originally from Kansas, "the little girl in the blue gingham dresswith the scruffy little dawg" wasn't the only one whisked away by a bad storm. Aunt Hagatha and her crew were moved East and have been sipping juleps and eatin' shramp since.
Eagerly approaching her big "50"...(yeah right!!!) I am just loving my life here back East. Being on this side of the country has provided me with opportunities I could have never dreamed of...meeting and working with some of the world's greatest celebrities, political figures, and other gifted artists! Now we have a new family to become a part of and I am deeply grateful for this opportunity. In today's economy, it's hard to find "nice things" at affordable prices, so I have pledged to give all eBayers the best possible deal I can afford.
I would be remiss if I didn't send a "mega-shout-out" to my gal-pal SassySal, one of my dearest friends, the one who conned , uh...I mean suggested, that we open auctions and a store. It is for this blessed sister that I am truly grateful, especially for her love, advice, attention, support, and patience. I am grateful and blessed to have the new extended family I have here...and count each of their presences in my life as the bricks to the foundation on which I stand...and yes, prosthelitize, preach, and stump!
Personally speaking, I like to believe I'm laid back, easy going, non-judgmental, honest and truthful to the core (sometimes too much for my own good), devoted, loyal, attentive, kind and generous...(dang! I sound like a Golden Retriever!) oh, yes, and very outspoken. But being raised "back East" or should I say "proudly in the South"...us *G*R*I*T*S* = 'girls raised in the south' know how to make you feel welcome, lift you up when you need support, and mix you a cocktail that will curl your lashes, redden your cheeks, and cause you to wink at something you THOUGHT was purdy. My home is like that, like me and my doors are always open. Once you visit as a guest, you return as family...that is unless I catch you stealing the silver, trash talkin one of my family, or kickin my cat.
I'm far from being a 'hick", I will admit that my neck can be a little red at times, (get me tipsy and *P* me off) but overall, I have wined and dined and gambled in Monaco, climbed the Neitzche Trail, drank champagne on the Cote d'Azure, celebrated Bonne Fete in Nice, 'wiggled' with the natives in San Tropez, shopped and sang in NYC, was on "The Price is Right" and met Bob Barker in CA, got thrown out of Disneyland three times in one night, thought some things and did others I shouldn't have in many other places....and can still "shag" in Myrtle Beach. As I always say, "If you aren't laughing, you came to the wrong show. You can't take life so seriously, it ain't permanent."
Now at "middle age" (oh puhleeze!) I believe children should be disciplined and if it means "whoopin" their little behinds, then so be it...and with fervor! I believe seniors in their golden years are the wisest story tellers and educators alive, they need love, more in fact, than any of us youngins! I believe the sun rises and sets for a reason, the waves come in and go out for the same reason, and the earth and wind moves as it should as it was planned. I believe these four elemental components make us who we are, that our Source planned it that way, and it is our responsibility and duty to be grateful for these blessings daily. Recognizing your blessings and being grateful is not religious, however some people make it so. It's simpler than that. It's our spiritual duty...to be present and alive. To share the unconditional love our Source purposefully created in us. It honors our Source.
Outside the harmony and balance of living my life freely with focus and purpose, it is my charge to find joy in every moment, laugh often, and forgive daily. My greatest rewards come from living my truth outwardly and with passion. I don't care if you agree with me or not, just leave the judgment to Our Source, that's not our job. I also believe that dealing fairly with others insures growth and provides my life better opportunites to pass on the blessings shared with me.
I do believe that ALL MEN AND WOMEN were created equal, that color/race/creed/religion/primal-nature only exists to teach us history and to tell each other apart, (how pretty would a monochromatic rainbow be?), and that it is innate in each of us to lift another person up when they need a hand..."to each of these my brothers and sisters..." I firmly and unequivacally believe that no human being should be subserviant to another but instead should serve each other generously. I have faith in mankind, that one day, we will all understand and peace will eventually be widespread but only when mankind removes the ego from the equation.
I love to cook, garden, and throw wonderful soirees for myself, for my friends and family, and for others....as I believe part of my purpose is service. I love to read and write so that I can possibly share something with others, especially the youngins, when I'm no longer able to and I am hopeful that one day, they will know and understand enough to begin "writing it down" as well to serve future generations.
I adore and admire creative minds, and talented people charge and excite my spirit. Yes, I do cry at Halllmark commercials and proud of it! I believe everyone, everywhere, should be able to afford and have quality healthcare, free water, and the opportunity to acquire education (some of us get it in the trenches, others acquire it in institutions....and this explains who the crazies really are....*grin*) I believe George Carlin was brilliant and ahead of his time while living in it. I believe Harvey Feirstein looks good in a suit as well as a dress and that it doesn't matter what he's wearing becasue the aged wisdom and truth of what he has to say is damn well more important to the world. I believe politics will be the ruination of every civilization unless each and every politician becomes accountable (no names as I don't want to get censored or "restricted" on eBay). I believe Oprah is...present. I know for a fact that celebrities should be left alone to live just like you and me. I also believe they should share their millions with me. I know Bill Gates should have been horse whipped for creating Windows Vista!
I will always believe that Princess Diana did what she came here to do but left the world too early and became a "moment of lesson" for mankind.
I know now that you must love your family but you don't HAVE TO LIKE THEM. Now Aunt Hagatha loves her other sisters, but Lou-cretia, Hazella, Minerva, Sisvesta, Caldoneya, and Eugenya aren't of the "retail, selling type," well maybe except Cal... ya'll, she done sold ...oops nevermind, thats another story for another time.
And since my time is winding up for this installment.....
Aunt Hagatha must thank our "boss" here at chc associates. If it weren't for the understanding and patience of this fine Southern "genteelman," Aunt Hagatha may have never been able to show up and show out.
Everything is always in good natured fun and we love and respect our customers and clients. Aunt Hagatha believes that life has to contain laughter..."if you're not enjoying yourself then you came to the wrong show...I mean, don't take life so seriously, it ain't permanent!" Every good heart has love at its core and we believe in sharing that unconditionally. If we all did this and put out "positivity" as Sisvesta says, (she was adopted) everything would be right across the planet. Maum Cretia taught us, "be kind to the earth, the seas, the trees, the beasts, and each other, cause we all we got."
SPECIAL NOTE: Many of our friends have asked why we changed my USER ID. Aunt Hagatha believes in putting it out front....so that everyone is clear.....Our first user ID was (hlcmtn) and it belonged to our boss here at chc associates as our eBay presence. When he gave me the STOREFRONT, I changed the User ID to (aunthagathasdevinefindsanddesigns) ....well as you can see it was way too darn long to type everytime I signed in to eBay, Auctiva, and PayPal......so I changed it to just plain ole (aunt_hagatha)... Actually, I ain't OLD and there ain't nothing PLAIN about Aunt Hagatha! *big grin*
Want to know more about us...click: ASK THE SELLER a question BUTTON (when we get one, OH we got one!) We're upgrading our technology and will have new email addresses, new domains, and other fancy bells and whistles soon. Here's a little overview of who I am and who "we" are: (our philosophy - "When you change the way you look at things, things you look at change."
*Aunt Hagatha’s Devine Finds and Designs* was created in 1988 and chc associates casting and services has been serving the US and International communities since 1970. Aunt Hagatha covers and reaches a diversity of clientele with great services and products. Our venture into the eBay Community is another way of reaching many, assisting change in other's lives. For more information about us and chc associates casting and services, click the eBay –ME page and read more and follow the links.
Aunt Hagatha's Devine (JEWELRY and TREASURE) Finds takes pride in our pieces we acquire. There is so much COSTUME JEWELRY on eBay, the auction and store pages are saturated with all kinds, designs, colors, textures, etc....so there is something for everyone. It's a great commentary on today's society and how we are moving back to Costume pieces due to our economy among other things. It is important to protect and preserve the art of jewelry and the styles and media used. It is important to have and hold a real "fine" piece every now and then just for posterity. I am so proud of the younger generation moving back to the trends of my hay day....wearing Thermoset, Bakelite, and other media. It's fun, good looking, and cost effective. When looking at the pieces I offer in my auctions and in my store, I thought it would be nice to see and play with these for a while, and now I realize it's time to pass the joy on to someone else.
Two days into the auctioning and I had someone trying to "work us." AUNT HAGATHA ADMONISHES - Don't ask us to sell you anything outside of eBay! We don't and won't and we will report this kind of traffic! Be kind...play nice....or go home.
Also, Aunt Hagatha wants it a matter of record, that all of her items she sells are "authentic" specifically her handbags and purses, which come from a licensed, certified, and trademarked Store right here in our "Hamlet not 5 miles away." If there is ANY question as to an item's legitimacy, you had better ask or Aunt Hagatha can and will make it a topic of conversation in a public forum. For those that would "ASSUME" I defer to Maum Cretia's spelling of the word!

BUSINESS
I have had no choice but to address this and will here:
(THIS IS OLD and will be MOVED to a blog site when I figure out what and where a BLOG IS......)
Due to the recent "upheaval and unpleasantness" from our "friends across the waters"....Aunt Hagatha has to put her "two cents worth" in. The reason for this is that I read where thousands (?) of sellers have been restricted in what they can sell and many (over 20 so far) have contacted their friend Aunt Hagatha about their restrictions. Aunt Hagatha in no way works for or consults for eBay. I needed to put that disclaimer in for obvious reasons. These friends who have written are concerned because they have spent a great deal of money/investment into some high quality items to sell and now are restricted because of the "items quality and name brand." This is a too familiar scenario on eBay from what I'm told. Many of us are upstanding, truthful, legitimate sellers and are a little "concerned" that those who would wish to defraud us as sellers and buyers with "bootlegged and knock off" merchandise. This has made it much harder for us who are upfront, honest, and forthright with our products and merchandise. Aunt Hagatha was patient and understanding until one of her closest friends who has been selling "name brand handbags and purses" for over 4 years with a 100% positive feedback rating was restricted the other day as well. It's unfortunate and we all, or most of us, understand the situation, however, when we are told by CSR's that we should contact "the proper department, let them know so they can explain and help us, and then wait 48-72 hours for a response by email which is the only way...." and WE DO, and we DON"T hear anything for weeks....our concerns are heightened and we begin to feel taken advantage of and that our hard work, concerns, and trustworthy practices are given no worth or credence. It's one thing to be told "we're saturated and overwhelmed with inquiries, questions, and communications." It's another to be a in Customer Service profession and not have the adequate staff to handle the Customers. I have been patient. I have been above board and honest from day one. I have given my time and tears and pledged to give my customers the finest and highest quality customer service possible. I also expect my venue and provider to do the same. I've even written on behalf of some of my freinds who really needed the help in resolving mistakes and misunderstandings that affect trust and safety here in our eBay community. What's worse, it's really hard and sad to see many of my friends hurting financially because of other's misadventures, mistakes, and seriously bad choices, choices involving breaking the law and "knocking off" someone else's designs and trademarks. Once I, along with many others received our "cut and pasted", less than vague response to the restriction issue, we are still where we were with nothing. We don't know WHAT is restricted, we don't know HOW MANY we can and can not list, we don't know much of anything other than "some sellers are restricted in what we can list and sell."
I personally decided to join the eBay family on the urging of two very important presences in my life. My best friend (she knows who she is) for her belief, trust, and wish to see us succeed here and then of course, eBay's awesome marketing to get me to try selling. Now I'm not so sure. I still believe my friend but when it, the "machine" affects her, what does that do to her eBay reputation and credibility? Is this fair? I've never been one to mince words and believe in calling the truth out. I will refrain from doing that now and giving the "administration" a chance to step up and communicate. How can we know if we're making mistakes if we're not told and given a chance to correct them? And then too, miscommunication, misinterpretation and misunderstandings happen. Resolution comes from clear, effective, and positive communication. Isn't that what eBay reputation is based on?...Feedback? The ability and action of properly and effectively communicating? We communicate with our customers so shouldn't our venue and "selling outlet" effectively and efficiently communicate with us? Aunt Hagatha welcomes all communications, just make sure you want to hear her responses. Due process is just that. Maum Cretia has always taught all of us, " If you can't satisfy they appetites, you sho better get outta the kitchen. If you gonna make good chicken salad, you better watch what you feed yo chickens." So all in all, we stick to our hard work and protecting our stellar reputations and wait patiently for positive and supportive communication from our venue. We believe in "our eBay," we believe in "our customers," and we believe in all things that are good and right in light and peace.
