Hi Fellow Ebayers
Here are some of my eBay policies. Please keep in mind that as per eBay's own policy, you still must read the auction and what the auction says is what governs it. These are guidelines as to what to expect from me, the main thing being customer service and making you happy.
SHIPPING POLICY: I make an effort to get your items mailed out to you as quickly as possible. With the USPS's free pickup, I can always ship daily--even if it's not Priority, all I have to do is leave my carrier a note in the mailbox and he'll come up to the house. When I buy, I like prompt shipping, so I will always ship your items promptly as well. I'll always email you with any delays and let you know when your item is being shipped. I always use PayPal shipping labels for a professional look, even when I receive payments by mail. They have reduced cost delivery confirmation and are just the easiest thing in the world. Please be sure you have a confirmed email address when paying with PayPal.
I am very sorry if someone thinks my shipping/handling is too high. I noticed that my stars went down because of this. I charge a flat rate and have even been known to refund if I have charged what I feel is much too much. Anything a couple dollars over and above shipping is called "handling" meaning that pays for my packing materials, and especially in the case of international shipments, my new boxes and packing peanuts. I cannot use free boxes to send overseas because no one chooses Priority International, it's simply too expensive. Therefore I need to use larger square boxes and fill them with a lot of packing peanuts, which incidentally I buy new. I'm sorry if you are one of those who feels I should have been dinged for my shipping/handling. I think the other 99.9% would disagree with you. As always, if you buy something, it is to be assumed that you agree with the shipping/handling or you would have asked about it in the first place.
PAYMENT POLICY: I take PayPal all the ways that I am supposed to--you are welcome to use a credit card, PayPal balance, bank transfer or e-check (e-checks are subject to a waiting period and are kinda annoying that way--to me it's much easier just to do a bank transfer). I also accept money orders or cashier's checks. For the convenience of my international bidders, I take payments by PayPal, US funds only please. An international money order in US Funds is also acceptable. Ebay no longer allows cash to be mailed so I do not recommend that anymore.
MULTIPLE WINS: I aim to please when it comes to multiple wins. We all like to get a good deal and I'm no exception, so I do offer combined shipping/handling on all items you win from me within a reasonable amount of time. Right now I'll say anything you win from me within a week, I can save and let you pay all at once. Please just wait for an invoice if you win multiple items from me as it's much easier to make one payment by Paypal.
FEEDBACK: I'm not one to hound people for feedback, but I do very much appreciate it when you leave my feedback once you've received your package and you're satisfied with it. I will then in turn leave your feedback. Please contact me before doing anything hasty if you're not happy with an item. When I buy from you, I will leave your feedback when I get my item and I'm happy with it. I hope that you will in turn leave my feedback as well, unless you already have.
IN GENERAL: I'm very easy to deal with so if I've made a mistake or you've made a mistake in something just email me and we'll try and work it out. So far nothing major has happened. I always describe an item to the best of my ability and try to make sure my pictures come out actually looking like that item. If I need to be away from a computer when the auction ends, you'll get my Winning Bidder Notice from eBay. I like to keep communications lines open. Hopefully no one thinks I email too much, but when I'm the buyer, I prefer too much email from the seller rather than not enough. I've bought from some terrific eBayers and try to pick up tips and hints from things they've done that I especially like. Thanks for looking at my auctions! I'm looking forward to dealing with you.
WHEN I BUY FROM YOU: I buy from people the way that I like for people to buy from me, meaning that 99% of the time I will pay you as soon as the auction or BIN is over with. The other 1% of the time is probably when I am away from the computer and have set up an automatic bid and won your item that way. In a case like that, I will pay you just as soon as I get back on my computer or wake up if you're in a different time zone--I'm EST.
I always request the total from my sellers if I have won multiple items. When I pay by check, I enclose all the paperwork you need so you'll know just what it is that I have bought from you. To me it's very annoying to just receive a check and try to guess what item it goes with so I will never do that to anyone. I believe in the Golden Rule and I hope everyone out there does too--that's what makes eBay a fun and friendly place to deal.
A big thanks going out to all the wonderful buyers and sellers I have come in contact with since I first started on eBay in February 2002. A couple of people that I have bought from or sold to have become good email friends! NOTE: I did not write the next two lines about anonymous names and bidding--I'm assuming that came from eBay as I'm not quite sure what they mean other than the Bidder 1, Bidder 2 thing they've done recently--sorry for any confusion--I was wondering where it came from too!
To protect bidder privacy, when the price or highest bid on an item reaches or exceeds a certain level, User IDs will be displayed as anonymous names. For auction items, a bold price means at least one bid has been received.Note: Anonymous names may appear more than once and may represent different bidders.
