My journey to collecting bayonets has seen numerous collectable hobbies over the years such as classic old Petrol Signs, Australian Art work and now a new desire to own a collection of Australian Bayonets from the early WW1 period through to current issue bayonets.
I am finding myself fasinated with the stamping differences and the qualities of the bayonets, their age and the intended use. These are weapons of great significance and if I am able to bring together one small collection - I would be a happy man.
I am proud to have an Australian / British and American bayonet collection and through this hobby I am hopeful to create opportunities to obtain bayonets not yet in my collection.

Military Memorabilia:
Military Memorabilia - Tarnish / Pitting / scratches / sharpening of blade edge / loss of paint or finish / refreshed / flex / liberal looseness / surface deterioration and other inperfections all contribute to the individual (buyers) perception in collectables ranging from 40 years to over 100 years years in age. I see these factors as age related deterioration.
Many collectors (as I do) value these age related factors, this represents the period of use and Ol' man Time :) My discriptions will highlight the positive nature of a bayonet, with a balance to reminding buyers in the condition report and age related wear factors.
My interpritations of the bayonet condition are as follows:
MINT Condition / Should reflect near perfect state with no blemishes other than light scratching from 'in out' use of a scabbard / Stamps should hold no wear.
EXCELLENT Condition / Will hold age related deterioration / wear will be evident to stamps and general condition / There should be NO significant dint & chips (unless stated) / All associated items will be tights and stictches in place and staples of good order / 'Issued' condition but in excellent presentable state for display.
VERY GOOD Condition / Will hold noticable and diminishing age related deterioration / wear will be evident to stamps and general condition / Items may hold dints, chips & scratching that is significant to the rating / Associated items could hold imperfections to stitching, staples, flex and creasing / 'Issued' condition but still in a very good presentable state for display.
GOOD Condition / Will hold significant dimishing age related deterioration / wear will be clearly evident to stamps and general condition / Items will hold dints, chips & srcatching that is significant to the rating / Associated items will hold imperfections to stitching, staples, flex and creasing / 'Issued' condition but still in a good presentable state for display.
For all other bayonets that hold deep pitting or tarnish that effects a greater than 35-45% of surface, handle(s) broken or major damage, chunked or soft, blades edges with multipule noticeable chips or dints or if a single chip exceeds 10mm - These bayonet are not put up for sale. These bayonets do not qualify to my ratings as collectable and fall below an 8 down to a 4 on my personal rating scale.
Questions:
This auction holds legal responsablities to both the seller and buyer. The highest bidder (in some case will involve meeting a reserve) will be deemed responsable in fulfilling the requirements of the Ebay Auction. Legal ownership in Ebay auctions is effective once the auction has complete and a bidder has been deemed successful. Queries to condition after the auction can be non-productive and buyers are encouraged to ask question during the auction process.
I have attempted to give an accurate description with in the listing & supply pictures and I will answer all questions to the best of our ability. The buyer is untimately responsable to ensure their satisfaction to queries prior auctions end.

I will be happy to leave positive feedback on the buyers confirmation to their satisfaction of delivery and I would encourage a positive outlook in completing the sellers feedback.
I value an honest approach and support eBays policy that sellers can not leave a negative for a buyer. I value the time in building an approachable process for concerns or questions.
I do ask if the buyer has any concerns to email first before posting feedback and I will do what ever I can to assist.
Non paying buyers will be reported to eBay, unfortunately there is no choice as Ebay sellers should be aware to non committing buyers.
Returns Policy:
If the item is not as shown in pictures, ** NO QUESTIONS ASKED** I will refund the purchase cost and postage.
If the item for some cause has a noticable conflict with my discription, I am happy to work with the buyer to resolution. The buyer acknowledges that I am not a dealer or expert in this field and am a hobbiest with a passion for bayonets, while every care is given with discriptions, errors in detail can occur.
For either a refund or inspection, the buyer is asked to return the same item via registered post in the same condition as when originally posted within 14 days of payment at the buyer expence for postage. Once the item is received, only then will an assessment of the bayonet take place.
If a refund is forthcomming, this will be to the buyers preference of PayPal or Direct Deposit to a bank account. If the item is agreed to be replaced with an alternative, the cost of postage will be at the sellers expence.
The buyer acknowledges if the original purchased item is to be returned or simpy a change of items at the buyer request only, the cost of re-postage would be met by the buyer.

Please make payment to be cleared within 5 days of the auction close time, the ONLY allowance to this for International buyers that have been given 14 days by agreement prior to Auctions close. Please respect this term of payment, as delays cause issue to a fair time allowed for postage of the winning artical.
Shipping & Packaging:
Only Australia Post will be used and the services they offer for domestic and international postage. If an alternative postal service is requested by the buyer, the amount due will be ONLY be the cost of the item and the buyer is to arrange their own courier or postal service.
Postage using 'Regular Mail', the buy acknowledges that a reciept of postage will be held to the postcode of destination and that if the item is lost or undelivered, this reciept is proof that all committments I can be effective with have been complete and our transaction itself was positive. Lost items under 'regular mail' is 100% the responsability of the Buyer.
Registered Post will give buyers knowledge the item will hold a min. $100 insurance value against loss, I am committed to follow through on any claim under 'registered mail' and the limits of insurance are the only bearing to a full recovery of purchase cost.
Postage will occur EVERY WEDNESDAY of each week, buyers acknowledge that if payment is NOT cleared funds, postage will be held untill funds are cleared and may delay postage untill the following Wednesday.
Packaging will use recycled materials, I will pack to my best with the intentions of providing a secure and safe delivery of the purchased item. There is NO CHARGE for packaging, there is NO SURCHARGES added, there is NO ADDED FEES for postage material.
Fixed Price postage within Australia. My committment is you will NEVER pay more than the quoted posted cost. I am committed to refund any difference in the buyers favour. The buyer will need to provide a PayPal account or Direct Deposit account for this refund to take place.
