My name is JayBee. I am from the Chicago area (big Cubs fan). I have a beautiful wife, a daughter, and a son who make me proud to be called daddy (hence the name bdj610, it means Big Daddy J).
This is what I collect.
I have been a baseball card collector for more than 20 years now, mainly Topps products. I have every basic and traded Topps set from 1976-2008 Topps Series II. That's over 41,589 cards and counting. This total includes assorted reprint and insert sets from 1995-2008 base sets. I also am the proud owner of the following sets:
2001 Topps Archives, 2002 Topps Archives: Best Years
I prefer collecting complete sets than single cards (like rookie cards or of just one player) because singles can be too expensive and I think grading is terribly over-rated.
This is what I am looking for.
Since joining eBay, I have been buying complete insert sets from Topps starting with 1996. I figured that those collectors who've wanted these sets already have them, so the demand for any sets that appear every now and then would be quite low. You know what...I was right. When I started searching for past insert sets, the list below contained four or five sets for each year. Here are the sets I am still actively looking for (with the number of cards in the set in parentheses):
2003 Topps: Nolan Ryan Record Breakers (7),
2005 Topps: Barry Bonds MVP Cards (1, the 1990 MVP card limited to 25),.
2006 Topps: Topps Team Factory Set Exclusive Cards (25, Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, New York Yankees, Pittsburgh Pirates, and St. Louis Cardinals).
2007 Topps: Topps Team Factory Set Exclusive Cards (25, Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees, St. Louis Cardinals, 2007 Topps Fanfest HR Derby, 2007 Topps All-Star Edition).
2008 Topps: Topps Team Factory Set Exclusive Cards (30, Chicago Cubs, New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, Detroit Tigers, Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Mets)
I'm not really into relic or autograph cards. I'm just looking for the regular insert cards.
Finally, I'm always on the look out for Pre-Production cards, Sample cards, Promo cards, whatever they are called, for all years from 1976-2007. I have some years (all but 2001 for the 2000's), but am always interested in getting these cards. Uncut Team Checklist Sheets from 1976 to 1982 are also what I'm looking to get. Anything that will enhance my collection.
This is what I am selling on eBay.
Although I am on eBay to buy cards, I am selling some of them too. Mostly inserts that I got from buying packs. If you have any questions, requests, or a list of any cards that you need, please e-mail me at bdj610@hotmail.com with a list and I'll see if we can make a deal to help you.
This is what I promise as a buyer.
If you are a seller, and I win your auction, I will write a check or money order (whatever is listed as the payment option) for the product as soon as possible. My e-mail address is bdj610@hotmail.com.
This is what I do as a seller.
If you bid and win my auctions, this is how I go about with processing, shipping my auctions, and my policy on non-paying bidders.
Please read if you are a winning bidder.
I will send you an e-mail telling you my address and how much I charge for shipping. One-two cards = $3.00. Three-more cards (whether it is one auction with 3-more cards or three or more auctions) = $4.00.
I do NOT accept SASE's, so please don't send them with your payment.
When payment is received, I will send an e-mail concerning receipt of payment and deposit to my bank (usually next business day).
I now accept money orders and cashiers checks, along with personal checks. Here is my shipping schedule based on the payment options:
If you send a personal check, I will deposit it the following morning and mail the card(s) within five business days.
If you send a money order or cashiers check, I will deposit it the following morning and mail the card(s) within two business days.
If you send a cash payment, the card(s) will be mailed the following business day. I only state this because while I do not encourage sending cash through the mail, I know that some eBayers do this to save time writing a check (especially if the item is around $5.00 or less). If you do plan on mailing cash, I will accept it and mail the card the day after I receive it, but you are sending cash at your own risk.
When payment is received, the card(s) will be placed in not one, but TWO penny sleeves, then into a toploader, then into a handmade cardboard holder, all this before putting the card(s) in a bubble envelope.
When payment clears, the card(s) will be mailed through the USPS. An e-mail will go out informing that the package has been sent and positive feedback will be left.
If payment is not received within three weeks of the auction's end, I will e-mail you a reminder that if the payment has not been received by the following week, a non-paying bidder form will be filled.
If by the fourth week the payment has not been received, then the non-paying bidder form will be filled out with eBay, and another e-mail will be sent to you stating that if payment has not been received by the following week, the auction will be cancelled and negative feedback will be left for the non-paying bidder.
If after five weeks from the end of the auction the payment has not been sent, negative feedback will be left for the non-paying bidder. This means that I would have waited five weeks after the auction ends to receive payment before leaving negative feedback. Most sellers only wait 1-2 weeks before leaving negative feedback on non-paying bidders.
