What Is 'Beads and Boas by JJ' and Why Would You Care?
About Me:
Okay, I confess; I'm addicted! Not that that's unusual. Any one I've ever talked to about beading either refers to it as an 'addiction' or an 'obsession'.
But ... I'm willing to sacrifice myself to save you from having to be a slave to this 'Beading Addiction'. I'm willing to search through old dusty, crowded, disorganized bead shops; spend hours on eBay discovering good deals on beads and findings; haunt rock stores looking for rare and unusual shapes and colors; and even do the research to learn new techniques and current styles. I'm willing to do all that work and even spend time hunched over a bead board watching the beautiful stones and beads shape themselves into intriguing patterns, just to spare you the trouble. All you need to do, then, is browse safely through my eBay store in a relaxed manner and choose your favorite item(s), bid on it (or buy it immediately), pay for it, wait patiently until it arrives and then wear it ... all with no fear of your becoming addicted to beading.

Back to the point ...
On the assumption that you came to my eBay 'About Me' page actually expecting to find out something about me, here goes:
I have a degree from UCLA in Psychology from 1973.
I have held jobs as a Nurse Assistant, a Psych Lab Assistant, a Secretary and Office Administrator, a Computer Programmer, and an in-home Infant Caregiver. But I most enjoyed being Wife, Mother and Homemaker.
I've been married to a wonderful man for 22 years. (Yes, ladies, they really do exist, although it took me 2 divorces to find him.)
I have 3 fine sons -- two are married (no grand kids, yet) -- one is entering high school this fall (2007).
I'm having an identity crisis over my age (57), but somehow excersizing my creativity helps me feel like I'm still alive.
I am currently residing in Southern California (not far from where I was born), although I've lived many other places.
My mother was the most artistic, creative person I've ever known, and I treasure the education in the arts and in crafting that I received just by being raised by her.
My father was also very creative and could make or fix anything. From him I learned that if you think hard enough you can probably figure out how to make almost anything.
I attribute my courage to try knitting, X-stitching, interior decorating, beading, etc., to my parents.
But more importantly, I attribute my hope of Heaven (and seeing them again) largely to their faithfully teaching me to love Jesus.
What's New (as of 12/07)?
I have entered some necklace sets using wire wrapped (caged) semiprecious stones from our summer trip. Hope you like them. Now, I have become interested in what can be done with different types of chains. Chains go well with wire wrap, I think. Also, copper is a new and enchanting metal to work with for me; it has been difficult to find copper findings and chains, but it's becoming easier. Next, I hope to be able to spend more time exploring some of the possibilities of polymer clay! Hurry back!
What's New (as of 9/07)?
My husband and I just got back from a terrific car trip up to Cottage Grove, Oregon, and back. (The incentive was my 40th (!!?!!) high school reunion.) I was thinking of you, my dear prospective customers, all the way. I found some wonderful beads and semi-precious stones at several places along the route we took. You will be able to view them in my store as soon as I perfect my wire-wrapping technique.
In Closing:
Thank you for visiting my 'About Me' page. I wish I could personally meet each of you. If you would like to email me about anything, you can do it through eBay's 'Ask Seller a Question'. I always welcome feedback and critiques about my jewelry. Also, if there is something you would like me to design just for you, let me know please.
Thank you again for your time,
JJ
