My name is Bekka, and I am the mother of 4 wonderful children: Anastasia (10), Sierra (9), Todd (just now 8), and Benjamin (5). Thus my eBay ID! I am a stay-at-home mom and I run my business out of my home, selling on eBay, from my online store, and at miniature shows and SCA events.
Tidbits Trinkets started out as "Tidbits Handmade Miniatures". I started making miniatures 3 years ago, after I had to become a stay-at-home mom because of my elder son's ADHD. Todd, who was 4 at the time, was not yet diagnosed and had been expelled from his daycare. I wanted to do something to continue to suppliment my husbands income, and discovered I liked making miniature rugs, pillows, and other soft goods. And I got to stay home with my kids on top of it!
In trying to create different for my fellow miniaturists, I began selling "Frame It Yourself" art prints in 1:12 scale. These little index card sized sheets of high resolution prints of paintings led, in turn, to someone requesting a full-sized sheet of pictures for more "full sized" arts and crafts like card making, scrapbooking and ACEOs. One thing led to another, and now I have a line of over 50 collage sheets - both miniature and full-page sized. I have also begun to carry a variety of embellishments for altered art, mixed media art, scrapbooking, card making, and assemblage art; including my very popular Treasure Bags (which have gotten rave reviews from the artists who have ordered them)
In addition, I wanted to become more involved again (after a 10 year hiatus) in the Society for Creative Anachronism. So I have begun making beaded circlets and hairsticks, and selling them along with other items of interest to SCA folk and RenFaire people. Now I hope to be able to afford to take all of my kids and my husband to SCA events with me.
