I am BeBe, the name #1 Grandboy gave me many years ago...and the man I am lucky to share my world with is Pops. So, that's how our Logo came to be....BePops just seemed to fit. Pops encourages me, searches for things for you and loves my work! Dust, our lhasa lets us live with her, aren't we lucky?!
I was so lucky growing up in the south, with a group of women who could do ANYTHING! Smart, pretty, talented, and they expected the same from me!
My Mother did it all, and worked! She was the lady who could cook any thing better than anyone, she could take a strip of fabric and make anything. She didn't paint with a brush, but she painted with fabric. She had the prettiest flowers in the neighborhood and the biggest tomatoes!
My G'ma died at 87yrs old, the same year she painted the outside of her home!
My sister was so pretty, and so talented. She brought me into the world of crafts and making things other than clothes. I was so enthralled, and so happy...I immediately spent all the money I had on supplies! Ring a bell with any of you?
I started cooking our family meals when I was eight years old. My Mother worked, and I had two hungry brothers to feed! That same year I started making my own clothes. I didn't like what other people, my Mother, made for me, so I did it myself. And failed sewing in Junior High...you should have seen my Mother's face as she stormed into the Home Ec room! I was always expected to make something, to create something, so I have. I am so thankful that was expected of me. Now I know how to do lots of things.
I miss those ladies...and wish they were here to share this with me. My sister would be so happy to see all the new things there are to work with. She would have been my best competition and my best fan. I am sharing the last photo of us together...isn't she a dark haired beauty?
she has been gone for over 20 years, but I remember.
I feel she is here with me, and loving all the things I do..please miss her...with me.
This fall brought the loss of my only child, Drenda. It's been a hard time for each one of us, most importantly, her children, Alexa and Chase. Thank you to those of you who knew and sent me words of encouragement and love. It's a hard thing to live with, and only memories remain. She was loved by so many. Treasure those loved ones you have near you. Tomorrows aren't guaranteed! Grab those cheeks and hug them! I'll show you her photo as soon as I figure out how to get it on here!...
Thank you all for the joy and pleasure that you send my way...by purchasing my things, by the notes and feedback that you send my way almost every day.
I appreciate you and hope you realize that.
If you have any special projects or things you would like, please contact me...I LIKE hearing from you. We do art festivals in the spring and fall, but I am never too busy to help you. You make my days brighter when I hear from you....please say hello now and then!
And....thank you 'In My Cedar Chest'...for this lovely thing you did for me! I can't tell you what it means. Y'all go see her work! It's special!----->
