Clay c.1800s (mid)

Hey there, Glad you took the time to visit.
I'm often asked about "Mibs" and what they are. Well, "mib" is an old term for "Marble". Yup, the kind you get down on your knees and play on the ground. A simple toy from a simpler time when kids knew better than to say, "I'm bored"!
Remember all those colors and swirls that made marbles so popular among the youngsters?? Many of them are no longer made, and many of the companys who made them are long gone.
Most marbles made today find themselves being used in industry, and a few go for boardgames.
Marbles have been found in Egyptian tombs. The ancient Romans developed more games for them than any other culture. They also found a place as gambling tokens, and have been used as currency.
Tho glass marbles date way back to the invention of glass, many were made of clay, or even stone or wood up to the late 1800s.
I like all kinds of mibs. Old, newer, handmade or machine they all have an appeal. My collection is made up of examples from each type. I have a large number of "shooters" (a larger mib) cuz I like their "heft" and size. I'm also really fond of the ones dug from the ground around the old factories. Lots of those are odd shaped rejects, cool.
Sometimes when I can bring myself to it I'll sell a few. (only to buy more right away, LOL)
A short word about feedback.
It seems to be a topic of much discussion of late with all the changes. I think when all is said and done that good sellers will prevail as they always have. Others will find they must follow suit and provide the best customer service possible to make it here.
I am always pleased to be able to award a full 5 star rating and nice feedback when a transaction goes well. If I should run into a problem with an item I receive (or don't receive) I will be sure to contact my seller before leaving feedback. I want to give the seller every opportunity to turn our deal into a positive experience.
Feedback is completely voluntary. Use it wisely, honestly, and without dragging in emotion. Learn about the D.S.R. Star System and rate your seller with the highest (5 is tops) number you feel applies in each category. These numbers are important to your seller's overall status with ebay.
