Our "Storefront" is a home office where all inventory is stored in a climate controlled and allergen free room of it's own. There is NO smoking in our home or office. I am also a professional musician (Piano/Vocals), available for any event. NEW & VINTAGE CLOTHING DESCRIPTIONS: NEW WITH TAGS - The garment is NEW with the hang tags in place. The item may have been tried on, or possibly even worn if it is a customer return. These NEW items are of the highest quality. Any flaws noted will always be included in the item description. NEW WITHOUT TAGS - The garment is NEW but does not include the hang tags. There is no evidence of wear on these items. The item may have been tried on, or possibly even worn if it is a customer return. These NEW items are of the highest quality and in MINT condition. Any flaws noted will always be included in the item description. EXCELLENT - The garment is in excellent unworn condition with no visible signs of wear. The item may have been worn once or twice, and possibly washed or dry cleaned. The item is LIKE NEW. These items are of the highest quality. Any flaws noted will always be included in the item description. VERY GOOD - The garment is in very good condition with only very minimal signs of wear, possibly showing in the inside tag, or there may be very minor wash wear. Otherwise the item is in excellent condition and appears near new. Any flaws noted will always be included in the item description. You may always bid with absolute confidence on these items. GOOD - The garment has minimal signs of wear and may have minimal piling. Condition is always taken into consideration when setting the lowest price for these items. AVERAGE - POOR - TOP Aquisitions will not sell items in this category as we adhere to the highest standards in quality. ABOUT SIZES: We use a standard size chart for Misses and Plus clothing when listing our items. (Note the recommended link for size charts http://www.newportnewscatalog.com/info/sizing_apparel4.asp?cat_id=6 ) When using clothing measurements for fit, we always recommend that you add 1-2 inches to your own measurements for comfort in movement. For example, if your waist measures 31 inches, and we offer an item with a 31 inch waist, it may not be a comfortable fit. However, if the waist of the item measures 32-33 inches, it would likely fit comfortably. ABOUT INSURANCE: All items are carefully packaged to prevent/resist damage. Packages are shipped with DELIVERY CONFIRMATION through Priority Mail (or other USPS method) and generally arrive at their destination within 2-3 days. (if Priority Mail is chosen). Adding insurance WILL NOT speed up delivery, but will add $1.60 (per $50 of coverage) to your final cost. We do offer optional insurance @the USPS cost which is $1.60 per $50 coverage. An item cannot be insured for more than you pay for it. NOTE: EFFECTIVE NOVEMBER 2007, INSURANCE WILL BE REQUIRED FOR ALL BREAKABLE ITEMS. Please take this into account when deciding on whether to purchase an item. A NOTE ABOUT INSURANCE: Insurance will be required on purchases of breakable items over $10. This is for the protection of your investment. While we package VERY carefully, once a package is in the hands of the USPS, we have no control over how it is handled. While rare, damages do happen, so it is better to be safe than sorry. INFORMATION DIRECT FROM USPS.COM ON FILING A CLAIM: New - Online Insurance Claims Quick and convenient online claims process. Filing a claim for domestic insurance purchased (up to $500) online through Click-N-Ship® or eBay? Senders or recipients can now file claims online -- providing a faster claims process and access anytime to view your claim status and history. It’s easy! Once you register or sign-in, all you need is: Your insurance article number. Your transaction number (for Click-N-Ship claims) or the auction number (for eBay claims). Proof of Value (all claims) and Proof of Damage (damaged claims/missing contents only). Note: damaged items (includes mailing container and packaging materials) must still be presented at the Post Office after submitting your online claim. NOTE: WE WILL BE HAPPY TO FILE THE CLAIM ONLINE FOR YOU VIA OUR USPS.COM ACCOUNT. THE BUYER WILL, HOWEVER, IN THE CASE OF DAMAGE, STILL BE REQUIRED TO BRING THE BOX WITH THE DAMAGED ITEM TO THE POST OFFICE- THIS IS A USPS REQUIREMENT. This, of course, is not necessary for an item that has simply been lost in the mail. This is an even rarer occurence, but should is happen, it can be handled quickly. Always allow at least 10 days to receive an item before becoming alarmed. The Post Office will not take a lost item claim right away. Some time must have passed to be sure the item has not been delivered and is , in fact, 'lost'. RETURN POLICY: Unless an item has been grossly misrepresented we do not accept returns. With the low/bargain prices we offer this is a cost prohibitive action for both seller and buyer. Please always go by measurements on clothing items for proper fit. Manufacturer sizing does vary. Always allow 1 - 2 inches in measuring between you and the item you are purchasing for comfort in movement. Ask questions before you bid if you have concerns re: the fit. ABOUT FEEDBACK: For the first few years of selling on EBAY we adhered to EBAY's suggested quidelines and always left positive feedback upon receipt of timely payment. With 100% positive feedback and an overall rating nearing 2000, buyers can feel secure that customer satisfaction is our priority. We work very hard and have for years to offer high quality items and very fast shipping. (every effort is made to ship the same day of payment or within 1 business day). We also strive to provide excellent communication with regards to payment and shipping. Our feedback truly speaks for itself. However, STARTING IN 2007, we will no longer be leaving feedback PRIOR to a customer's receipt of an item. We have not been taking into account new and/or inexperienced EBAYers who might leave feedback without allowing a Seller to work with them to fix a problem, whether that means a full or partial refund or credit, or whatever is needed. OUR NEW POLICY in 2007 will be to share feedback with our trading partners AFTER an item has been delivered and any (very rare) problems are resolved. ABOUT SHIPPING: Please note that we offer a number of shipping choices in the interest of COST. However, WE STRONGLY ENCOURAGE CHOOSING PRIORITY MAIL for fastest service. We note this in all of our listings and on invoices. Choosing an alternate shipping method, while it may save a few dollars, might mean a delay in shipping, especially during USPS busiest times such as the Christmas Holiday. Media Mail can be particularly slow as well. Bottom line, if you can wait for an item and want to save a couple of dollars, choose Parcel Post, First Class or Media Mail (depending on which service is being offered). However, if you expect your item to be delivered FAST, CHOOSE PRIORITY MAIL as it is the only method (although NOT guaranteed by the USPS) that can get your item to you within 3 business days). ONCE AN ITEM HAS BEEN SHIPPED, DELIVERY OF THE PACKAGE IS OUT OF OUR HANDS AND IN THE HANDS OF THE USPS. ABOUT PAYMENT: A NOTE ABOUT PAYMENT METHODS: We accept Paypal. This has proven to be a safe and easy method for both Sellers and Buyers. Please ask before assuming that I will accept a money order as payment. I will, however, usually gladly accept a money order from a buyer with well established 100% positive feedback. As BLACK CREEK VINTAGE is located in a rural area, our closest bank branch is over 25 miles away, one way (50+miles round trip). We use direct deposit and don't make many trips to the bank. Money orders, for us, are actually costly. We have, when queried, left the option for buyers to send well-concealed cash at their own risk. This, in thousands of sales, has been done only twice. Should a buyer choose to send cash, it is, again, at their option, and it is highly recommended that the buyer insure the delivery for it's value as well as be certain to have a delivery confirmation number. This really doesn't cost much more than purchasing a money order. We DO NOT encourage sending cash. We DO NOT request that cash be sent. We DO accept PAYPAL. We DO recommend PAYPAL. We DO prefer PAYPAL. (and it should be noted that, for Merchants/Sellers, Paypal is not free- we pay a % for every transaction). Paypal is, however, FREE for buyers. Buyers do not pay a fee for using Paypal. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.
