Hi my name is Blaire, and I just started selling on ebay 3 years. 7 years ago I was diagnosed with Fibromyalsia.(a debilitating desease of the muscle, joints, and ligaments-very painful) I lost my job and had to file for disability, which took a year to get. I have missed my job terribly. Because of my illness, I spend alot of the time in bed on a heating pad in pain, and locked away from the world outside. On a average, I spend about 15-20 days, at 3-4 day spands in bed. On "my good days", I am franticly trying to get my house back in order, which is so difficult because you tire very easily and have to stop and take several breaks. It takes me to whole day just to clean one room of my house- but I make myself do it! You can't giveup or you lose! So, as you see, not a very fullfilling life. Until I met ebay.
First I bought a few things, then I started researching how to sell, reading books, such as-the EBAY BIBLE, and doing the free tutorials ebay offers. Because I can do this out of my home AND in my bed, I can do it on my good days. On my bad days, I just check my messages. I don't sell alot of things right now, but it has given my life meaning again, and with my son and husband helping me make this workable for me, it has also brought us closer as a family. We love to put things up for auction and see what they end up selling for. We put up some of my 16 yr old son's smurf collection(7 in all), and it sold for $37.00! We couldn't believe it! Thank you EBAY!
Because of my illness,I have to minimalize. The less to dust the better. So I am slowly cutting back my massive collection down to a few pieces to cherish, the rest I will be selling on ebay, bits at a time, so please look out for them. My helpers, besides my son, Josh and husband,Skip- are my loyal companions, George, my chihuahua, and Tiger, my kitty. I don't know what I would do without my furry babies. They are always with me! I'm quite the animal lover. They watch over me, when I'm in bed on my son's notebook checking ebay, and give me unconditional love when I am in pain and unable to do anything-they see both sides of me and love both. On my good days, if I am downstairs on the computer to long, Tiger will jump up on the computer table and sit on my keyboard. He will give me this look,"ok-mom- it is time to stop before you overdo yourself!" He is better than a timer! (which I do use to make sure I do not sit to long in one spot, but sometimes, I will get so involved- I keep going and then I will not be able to get up out of the chair by myself, and I guess Tiger knows this-so he interveigns everytime! Three things I find totally amazing- my son, my animals(pets) and eBay!!!!!
