All About bluewithoutu
Most people ask me where the name bluewithoutu came from...
Well, you won't find the answer here... sorry.
Next, If you clicked on my About Me page, I am hoping you wanted to know a bit about me.
So, here goes... My current passions are:
* Anything Disney World (I just took a week long trip there in May 2006, it's my 3rd trip in 4 years.)
* Impressionist Art - Talouse Lautrec, Monet & Vettriano.
* Shabby Chic Design
* New York Loft design
* Moulin Rouge - The Movie
* Anything vintage french - black & white postcards of the Eiffel Tower...
* Harry Potter - who's not into HP?
* John Grisham novels, a fellow Mississippian!
* Amelie - The Movie
* Napoleon Dynamite - can I have some of your tots?
* Reality TV, especially Big Brother All Stars (Go Janelle!) and Survivor.
* I love Pride and Prejudice & pretty much anything Jane Austen.
* The Napoleanic Wars and Horatio Hornblower Movies!
* Master and Commander - I love that movie!
This month's obsession is old black and white classic romance movies like Three Coins in a fountain and Casablanca. I've bought some on eBay and have been trying to learn more about what the best ones are. If you have a favorite, let me know! I'd love to add another great movie to my collection.
A bit more about me....
I mostly buy on eBay, but I sell on occasion. I shop and compare a lot... I buy anything from toothbrushes & razors to my bed & armoire. I love good deals and quirky fun stuff!
On a personal note, I am the mother of twin 19 year old girls... My best friends. And my son is 11 and is the living incarnation of my heart. He loves skateboarding and Bam Magera from MTV.
Currently and for the last 17 years, I live in Salt Lake City, Utah, but I'm actually from a small town along the Gulf Coast of Mississippi called, Pascagoula. (Go Panthers! Go Goula!) Pascagoula is about 45 minutes east of Biloxi and all the Casinos. Sadly, my home town was devestated from Hurricane Katrina. Most everyone suffered major to total loss. Fortunately, no lives were lost from my friends and family. Don't forget, many people are still living in trailers a full year later. May God bless and keep them all.
Another obsession of mine started back in mid-2000, I started collecting Sesame Street Christmas items. (I was already collecting Sesame Street, but expanded it to Christmas stuff. Since then I've given up the collection and now only have the Christmas stuff left).
As a result, I now have a Christmas tree slam full of Sesame Street ornaments & lights! Tons of Grolier and unique ornaments!! I even bought Sesame Street Christmas fabric to applique a tree skirt & then I used a Sesame Street Christmas coloring book to made a few wood patterns on my own. They turned out super cute! I even made a handpainted Sesame Street "Street" sign to top off this cool tree!
I'm thinking of putting my Sesame Street Christmas collection up for auction, but it's a daunting task. If you collect this or are looking to collect it, let me know. Maybe that will motivate me to get the auctions up and going in time for this holiday season.
