Grandma (Me!) + Pop-Pop (Hubby!) = Our Pride & Joy (Grandsons!)
|
When I learned that I would be moving to Japan back in 1999, I was not a happy camper. My mom had just passed away, I had a great job, and supportive friends here in the USA. My first six months in Japan were not easy, until I learned how to take the trains and go to other cities to shop. What I became fixated on was the Japanese's love for Disney & Sanrio items- you would not believe the abundance of these items, which I found so strange as the Japanese have such cramped living spaces. I became a regular at several of the Japan Disney Stores in several different cities, and made some wonderful acquaintances in doing so. Not only did I buy the heck out of the Japanese beanies, I met others online from the UK, Hong Kong, Australia, etc who had a love of Disney as well. So became a three year period where I traded my Japanese items, with those who had country exclusives of their own. While living in Japan, I was a regular contributor to Disney collectors websites, providing news, pictures, and such of all the Japan Disney Store releases. Needless to say, my three year tour in Japan ended up full of great memories, and newfound friendships. As my collection grew, my husband stood by me in bewilderment at how large my collection had gotten- I know to this day that he was relieved that I found something to put my heart and soul into, as it could have been a looooong three years!

Cutest Grandsons Ever! Go Chiefs!
|
Flash forward and I was back in the good ol' USA- where I was ecstatic when I bought a house that would give me an entire large room in which I could display my over 900 Pooh & Friends beanies and items. My friends called it the Pooh Museum, and it was always the focal point when folks would come to visit. You either left that room in gleeful amazement, or walked out thinking at some point I had lost my mind!
Today I have two adorable grandsons, and in wanting to keep the image in their eyes of being the most awesome Grandma in the world, I have decided to part with my Disney collection- in order to create the most coolest Race Car decorated play room ever made!
Thanks for stopping by to read a little about me...if you are a Pooh bear lover who missed the craze, or a collector filling in holes in their collections, I think that you will be delighted with my hard to find items in my Ebay Store & auctions, with 99% of my items for sale listed at a fraction of what I paid in retail.
Enjoy & Happy Collecting!!!
