Our adventure began on eBay almost 10 years ago! We owned and operated two antique stores in the Antique City of the South (Lebanon, Tennessee) and had some inventory that had been in our stores for too long. We decided to try to sell them on eBay. My store was Rainbow Relics and our motto was Antiques, Collectibles and things that will be.... We were located in an old bank building on our historic town square. We had two vaults in our shop that were real tourist attractions. My husband's store was Bonnie Blue Antiques which specialized in beautiful glassware and southern antiques. When we started selling on eBay in 1998, we chose the I.D. bonnieblueis (Bonnie Blue Internet Sales) since it was really an extension of our actual brick and mortar locations.
The first big success was a top to a Scottie Powder Jar that we had in our showcase for almost two years. Someone in Florida had the bottom and had been searching for the top for quite a while. We discovered the top in the items that we had purchased in an estate in Indiana. How exciting! These two lonely pieces finally found their match through eBay and the lucky buyer had a beautiful antique powder jar to add to his collection. We were both winners.
Through the years there have been great finds AND great fizzles.
We closed the stores several years ago and I retired at the end of 2005. Now eBay is my full time occupation. I sell items on consignment for several clients and also list the items that I find on my Treasure Hunts. I am currently selling a large collection of Railroad paper items for one of my clients. Another client has an extensive inventory of Department 56 collectibles and I usually have a good variety of Department 56 available. I love my job and am proud of my repeat customers and the feedback that we have earned over the years.
We are Gigi & Pa Skip to two beautiful grandsons so we named our eBay Store Gigi & Pa Skip's Attic. You never know what we will be listing so add us to your favorites and pop in every week or so for a visit.
