Brunei in brief
Brunei Darussalam, (pronounced /bruːˈnaɪ/ in English) officially the State of Brunei, Abode of Peace (Malay: Negara Brunei Darussalam, Jawi: برني دارالسلام ), is a country located on the island of Borneo, in Southeast Asia. Apart from its coastline with the South China Sea it is completely surrounded by the state of Sarawak, Malaysia. Brunei, the remnant of a very powerful sultanate, regained its independence from the United Kingdom on 1 January 1984.
Negara Brunei Darussalam (or just Brunei to his mates) is one of the smallest countries in the Borneo Island but also one of the wealthiest thanks to the oil industry.

Borneo is considered to be part of the geographic region of Southeast Asia. Administratively, this island is divided between Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei. Borneo is the only island in the world containing parts of three separate countries. Borneo is divided administratively into:
1.The Indonesian provinces of East, South, West and Central Kalimantan.
2.The Malaysian states of Sabah and Sarawak, and the Federal Territory of Labuan.
