Hello Everyone:
I live in a small rural community in S.W. Virginia (near the Kentucky border) with my husband, Roy, who is a retired UMWA Underground Coal Miner/Roof Bolter, and a Vietnam Veteran. We live with my doggie Sweetie Pie (part Siberian Husky/part Shephard) and our many cats, especially Buster, Midge, Whiskers, Fluffy, Tippy, Marigold, Rocket, Slinky, Jasper, Zipper, Spot, Peepers, and Bambino. I am interested in history, traveling, computers, video games, UMD games & movies, DVD movies, and music CD's. I love all kinds of jewelry & watches. I am a "certified" Garfield Fanatic & have lots of Garfield stuff. I have been collecting souvenir bells, plates, thimbles, spoons & shot glasses for many years, from places we've visited. I have been to a lot of places in our beautiful, wide open country. I grew up in the great Pacific Northwest in a little town called Seattle, WA, so I've been to most of the Western States & National Parks, including Yellowstone, Glacier, Olympic, Mt. Rainier, North Cascades & the Grand Tetons, to name a few. My Son drives an OTR Semi, and I've ridden with him on many trips to lots of places in the Eastern part of the USA. Since June 2007, I have been adopting animals from Build-A-Bear Workshop. My first animal is named "Gunny." (My Sister bought him for me, complete with a Marine Uniform, thus his name). He has been followed by Kenai Chinook, Kalahari Dawn, Fiona Colleen, Yankee Doodle, Lavender Rose, & Chubbie Cubbie Bear. They have a sister, from Wacky Bear Factory, whose name is Kitty Baby. I'm sure I'll "adopt" more in the future. I am also a member of the Red Hat Society and would love to find a Chapter to belong to. Our grandchildren keep us busy & entertained, with their activities. We have four: Sarah (12), Haley (10), Heather (9) & Chuckie (4). We love to go camping, fishing & hunting.
We would like to adopt at least two Siberian Huskies, to keep Sweetie Pie company. Preferably, the Huskies will be Black & White & Gray and have blue eyes. I have been in contact with a Siberian Husky Rescue Fund. These are truly gorgeous animals and even though they have almost boundless energy, make good family pets.
UPDATE!! On 26 August 2008, a friend brought me a Calico Mommy with four utterly precious kittens. Together, we saved them from her neighbor, who had threatened to DROWN THEM!! We have named the mommy Sassy and christened the kittens Eenie, Meanie, Minie & Moe. As far as I'm concerned, they now have a "forever home." Eenie is calico like mom & female; Meanie & Minie are white & marmalade orange & male; and Moe, who has longer hair, is grey & white & male. The "Crazy Cat Lady" has struck again!!!
