The name Capitol Salvage came from one of my former jobs - I worked in the Connecticut State Capitol building - currently my day job is as a teacher (7th grade social studies!)
For anyone who has been to or seen the state capitol building in Hartford knows what an architectural gem it is - sitting in that building for twelve years I always marveled at the amazing victorian design and detail - and without a doubt that appreciation of architecture led me to do something I trully love - looking for victorian architectural salvage items.
Since starting to sell as a 'serious' business, Capitol Salvage has exhibited at the following antique shows and flea markets:
Brimfield, MA - NE Motel - booth #2
Maine Antique festival - Union, ME
Glastonbury Antique show (Jan. & August)
Farmington Antiques festival - Farmington, CT
Elephant's Trunk - New Milford, CT
Lebanon Green - Lebanon, CT
Rhinebeck Antiques festival - Rhinebeck, NY
I am continuing to look for good quality exhibits -
We have also developed and designed our own personal web page - check us out at:
www.capitolsalvage.com
We store our inventory in a post & beam constructed barn - and have ALL of our inventory stored at one address (finally!) - if interested in visiting - please contact us!
We are always looking for good quality merchandise - if you know of a friend or have salvage yourself - we are always interested, send us pictures.
PAST customers - Thanks for making the first six years of Capitol Salvage such a success and for new customers - let us help you decorate, remodel or find that special piece for you.
