What in the World Does "Carpe Factum" Mean?


My Best Friend (my wife!) and Me

We've all probably heard the Latin terms "carpe diem" (seize the day) or "carpe annum" (seize the year), etc. but maybe not "carpe factum". It simply translates: "seize the accomplishment"! At its core the saying means to be passionate about what you pursue and to make sure your pursuit has purpose. Why? Because passion without pursuit is pointless! So what are we passionate about? Well, eBay for one thing. For another, earning and keeping the trust and confidence of fellow eBay-ers everywhere by making sure our listings are accurate, charging a fair price for shipping and handling, and shipping as fast as we can.

My company is a non-profit corporation called VisionWorks. And we are all about helping religious non-profit organizations and churches pursue their purpose with passion. Since I earn my living in the business world (supplemented by my activity on eBay), I am able to provide my consulting services at little or no cost. In addition to these activities, I also have a passion to encourage missionaries around the world.
