protecting free speech in comics
The Comic Book Legal Defense Fund is a non-profit organization protecting the First Amendment rights of the comics community. Founded in 1986, the CBLDF's guiding principle is that comics deserve the same freedom of expression accorded film, literature, and other media. Thanks to the generous support of comics fans and professionals alike, the CBLDF has coordinated and funded the legal defense of more than a dozen First Amendment cases.
CBLDF Auctions
Many creators, publishers, and fans show their support for the Fund by donating items: original artwork, signed books, out-of-print items, rare collectibles, and much more. We're happy to accept these items and help make them available to the comics community. Working with eBay is one of the best ways for the CBLDF to turn these items into actual and necessary funds for the protection of free speech.
All the items in our auctions have been donated, and all proceeds benefit the Fund. For more information, and to find out about new and upcoming auctions, please visit the CBLDF web-site at www.cbldf.org.
