Through the generosity of individuals and businesses, thousands of children have the opportunity to participate in the technological world of today that they might otherwise not have.   CFK receives donations of computers from individuals and businesses. Hard drives are sanitized to ensure that existing data cannot be retrieved. CFK then refurbishes, builds, and programs the computer systems.  As an Authorized Refurbisher, licensed operating systems are installed.  Distribution is then made to student applicants for a $35.00 processing fee.  Scholarships are sought through grants to provide the processing fee for those who are unable to pay. CFK has never turned away a child’s request. 

CFK seeks to meet these demands through its recycling program, affiliation with sponsors and fundraising efforts. Businesses and citizens can utilize a giving opportunity that provides tax benefits and keeps electronic equipment out of landfills. The many aspects of our program create varied expenses..  Funds are needed to provide scholarships to those who cannot afford the processing fee.  Money is required to offset the cost of refurbishing computers that exists beyond the processing fee.
