I've been actively collecting Dawn dolls for 7 years but my love for Dawn and her friends goes back 37 years! In fact, I have one picture with my cousin and I playing with her new Dawn doll's outfit. My parents divorced when I was 6 and so every summer, days after the school year ended, I was driven to the airport to fly alone to spend the summer with my dad. I can't imagine putting my 7 year old on a plane these days! While I was gone, my mom took this opportunity to clean out my room. Our house had to be PERFECT! There was never any clutter allowed and my room was sometimes cluttered! So, I guess that is why each summer my favorite toys dissappeared. I'm not sure what summer my Dawn Dolls dissappeared but I asked for them back and my mom said that she didn't know where they were. Flash forward to 1999.....I left work early as a high risk pregnancy. In my boredom, I discovered Ebay. First I rediscoved Vintage Barbie but Barbie wasn't lost. Dawn was! When I discovered Dawn on Ebay, all those wonderful memories came back! I was so excited I even told my mom about rediscovering Dawn. I was so excited I didn't care how much she hated hearing about me spending money on anything! She didn't say anything right then but the next time she came over for dinner, she brought me a surprise. My Dawns and my original six doll case! I was so excited! They were in terrible shape but I didn't care. OH and the clothes! None of the fasteners were still on them. I'm happy to say that I have since replaced those raggedy clothes plus some extras!
