founded in 2000, our web shop copacetique features handmade clothing, accessories, housewares, paper goods, original art, cuddly toys, and other products from over 60 artists and designers from across north america and as far away as japan and italy, including in-house label copacetic. other designers featured include april fool, boygirlparty, flying fish, happy owl glass, lekkner, meomi, lusterbunny, dog & pony show, the small object, and wonderland-q. the shop also features hand-selected vintage items representing the cutest the 1950s-1980s had to offer.
copacetic products are also available at boutiques across the country. in seattle, copacetique's hometown, they can be found at velouria, pretty parlor, and the shop. they are also available at magpie in boston, young blood gallery in atlanta, the women's art center in salt lake city, and the sampler shop in sacramento. copacetique can also be found almost every month at i heart rummage, seattle's monthly independent crafters' bazaar.
who are we?
janice is copacetique's mastermind of cute. she's the designer/crafter behind the copacetic product line and the curator of copacetique's selection of designer and vintage items. if you've ever seen the john hughes movie pretty in pink, that should give you a good idea of what janice was like growing up: buying clothing secondhand, and combining vintage pieces to create something entirely new! now, when she's not out searching for vintage goods and fabrics, or sitting at her trusty hand-me-down sewing machine creating girlish goodies, she can also be found updating the site with product photos and zippy item descriptions.
when you send us an e-mail, chances are you'll get a reply from mike! mike puts his experience as a former cubicle-dweller to work on the administrative side of copacetique, handling bookkeeping, inventory, shipping, customer service, promotion, and those non-cute taxes! but he also gets to put that art school diploma to use behind the lens of a digital camera, hunched over a button press, or transforming records into clocks. mike is also responsible for the awesome, renowned photography site photophonic.com.
janice and mike can also be found at copacetic zine, writing witty remarks in their blogs and reviewing the latest independent music and films.
ethel loves laying on any sweaters left laying around, sitting in your lap, and sticking her butt in your face. I should mention she is a cat.
tobin loves hiding in janice's closet, being petted, and big, long stretches. yeah, he's a cat, too.
