I love to buy things on eBay, but I'm rarely a seller. However, I recently became the director of a nonprofit animal rescue/retirement/hospice care organization called "Wee Paws", and I want to raise funds. I'll be periodically going through my possessions and offering them for sale to help pay for veterinary care, pet food, and other items to keep the animals here in good health, both mentally and physically.
If I am a buyer of an item, I will no longer leave feedback unless the seller leaves it FIRST. I'm tired of all the notices I receive from sellers saying they'll leave feedback for me once I've left it for them. It implies that they want the chance to retaliate for the feedback I leave, and I'm not going to play that game. As a buyer, I should be rated on how quickly I pay, and that's pretty much it. I recently left POSITIVE feedback for a seller, with a comment that they might want to try better packaging because while my item was fine, the packaging seemed a bit flimsy. In turn, the seller left me neutral feedback. I had paid for the item within 12 hours of winning the auction, and had left positive feedback with a constructive comment, and I was punished for it. A few years ago, I had to leave my very first negative feedback for a seller because an item didn't arrive, and the seller would not answer my emails, and I had to go through PayPal to get my money refunded. As soon as I left that negative feedback, the seller turned around and left negative feedback for me, calling me a liar. That same person hadn't uttered a peep during all the emails I sent trying to resolve the issue, and they hadn't even answered PayPal during the dispute process. They were able to leave me negative feedback for trying to get my money back, however.
So, if I purchase from you, you must leave feedback for me before I'll leave it for you. If I'm a seller, I will leave feedback first. I know this means my feedback quantity will drop significantly, as I won't receive feedback for about 75% of the auctions I win. Still, it will give me peace of mind.
