Myself and My Oldest Son Having a Jam Session

Let me tell you a story. A little over 4 years ago a young couple experienced the joy of giving birth to their first son. He was an apprentice stock broker in a major bank, and she was a school teacher. Their son, a gorgeous bouncing baby boy! For almost a year they entrusted care of that exquisite son to the youth pastor at their church, a woman they absolutely trusted and loved....and it tore them up inside. After much anguished discussion, it was decided they would tag team, one would work by day, the other by night, and raise their son the old-fashioned way--hands' on. Since she had about 3 months a year of paid vacation, he was chosen to get the night job. He delivered pizza for a while, tended bar, and somehow, despite the odd circumstances, they found the time to have 2 more kidlets to raise, another boy and a wonderful girl. He settled into waiting tables in a fine Italian restaurant 3 nights a week, and began to examine ways to enhance the family income online.

That is how I became "Daddy by Day." I now jokingly tell people, when they ask, that I'm a housewife! I'm homeschooling my oldest son (now 4, we're doing preschool together) and look forward to the same with the others, now age 2 and 10 months. My wife and I are both Christians, and very active in my local Presbyterian Church, where I sing on the worship team and teach an adult Sunday School class. And of course eBay and my store, Dad’s Special Occasion Gift Baskets. are now both a hobby and a passion to me. I must say, as I'm reflecting on what to write here, my life is very full and satisfying right now. I have many special moments to look back on joyfully. I truly look forward to working with you to help some of your special occasions be even more special, and hope to get to know some of you in the process.
