Welcome to My About Me Page! Hi, My name is Darlene and I want to first welcome you to my ebay store! I have to start this by thanking my grandparents. They started taking me to auctions in Hartville OH with them from the time I was very young. I still laugh today remembering my grampa's instructions not to move." Dont raise your hand, twitch your nose or pull your ear!" Can you imagine how hard that was for a small child? It was only the promise of Chocolate Creme Pie during the breaks that most likely kept me somewhat still. I also thank them for their patience when I asked to hold a valuable piece of their collection and answer my many questions.I remember going with gramma to her "glass club" meetings where I met people like Jabe Tarter and Paul Miller who also had the patience for my many questions.The twice yearly trips to the Fenton Art Glass Factory and the Degenhart Glass Factory, where I was also fortunate to meet Mrs Degenhart who even now looking back was the sweetest and most unassuming lady I have ever met. How I came to sell on Ebay is also because of my grandparents. Altho I would love to have a brick and mortar store and be able to talk to people like they did, times have changed...The internet allows me to do the same thing but with collectors from all over the world! How Cool is that!! I inherited not only my love of antiques and mainly glass but I love to sell. I started selling their inventory which I was fortunate enough to inherit and I do that to add to my own glass collections( some say obsessions) I collect some of the older lines of Fenton Art Glass( peach crest, aqua crest etc) from before they started marking their glass. I also collect brides baskets,Mt Washington, some English glass , toothpick holders, hand vases, vaseline glass and opalescent glass. BUT my main collection and my greatest love is the old carnival glass! Most of all, I work very hard at preserving glass history by doing the same things my grandparents did with my own children and grandchildren! Ask anyone who knows me...I love to talk about glass!!
