Sea Dragonling twins SOLD!!!
|
May 29th, 2008

Well, no one has taken the bait for a free ACEO if they give me some help with these...So I am adding things slowly. Maybe now that my daughter isn't stressing out over schoolwork that she didn't get done until THIS week...I can get these two enchanting ladies of the deep finished!!! I have added two reef sharks above the golden warrior mermaid, and way up from the blue one, a Loggerheaded sea turtle. I have also started some corals and fish near her tail and fins. Hope these will find a home here fast!
I have decided that it looks dim--- our chances for a vacation back home. My daughter's legs aren't doing well, and we are broke! SO I am giving you all a vacation through my photos. I miss the coast, and long to feel the tug of the wet and salty winds at my hair. I miss the crash of the surf, the smell of the briney tidepools and all of my favorite sights. If you like the oceans as I do, and are landbound(or perhaps want something to recall your past vacations to the coast) please, check out the prints I am offering here. I am grateful to those who are buying my little ACEO versions of my photos. Me, I ache for the Oregon coast. We lived within an hour drive of Newport Oregon. I loved the winding highway through the coastal range. Moving from light to shadows within the lush Douglas fir forests. Now and then seeing little towns and clumps of community within the sweet smelling firs and ferns. Oh, I miss it so! So I relive it through hundreds and thousands of my photos. And what better way to relive it than by offering you my little bits of memories. For that is what photography means to me. It is a way I can capture forever...a scene, a taste, a smell etched in my mind's eye. And look at it, and dream of the day I had the pleasure of experience.
For a while my mermaids and mermen were selling pretty well. A big thank you for appreciating those. WHat I had left after fees isn't much. But I was able to use it for my daughter. I bought her special(and very expensive) body lotion. One of her problems is psoriasis. And she's been getting it very bad lately. So sensitive, that some lotions and creams burn her skin. Soaps and anything with laytex in it are bad for her too. Her legs are still in horrible pain, and her hands now are almost always curled up and twitching. I was able to buy her magazines for her assignment, and she got an A, yeah!!!! So many thanks for those who are still bidding and buying from me...Every little bit helps.
Mer-freak sold, but for a very low price. Sorry, I cannot afford to offer any more items with $0.99 starts... I have more in fees to pay out, than I get from the sales.
I have a lovely unicorn ACEO drawing for sale, with no bids. I submitted it for the ALA weekly theme this past week. PLease be sure to bid on it. The better the bids, the better my chances of winning a banner are.
I will be posting a tiny Micro sized Opal Dragonling this week. It has a genuine Black Opal triplet in its tiny claws, and I painted it with special paints and used holographic glitter on it, to look much like the fire in a real opal. I also will have two more Dragonlings very soon. Up for auction, since the people who were going to buy them seemed to have forgotten their arrangments with me. One is a Peridot baby dragon, with genuine peridot chips scattered around it and one large one in its paws. The other is an Amethyst dragonling. I also have two Pearl ones in the making, and a Garnet. All of them have genuine gems in their clutches, and will come with more to scatter on their displays. If you have seen one of interest on my website, or here, and would like a special one. I will be happy to set up a private Buy It Now listing for you. Just ask.
Thank you for purchasing things from me...I fear we will not be able to afford a trip home if I cannot make more money though. I just am not getting any subbing jobs. And well, that is life I guess. But meantime, I can still HOPE. And try, and draw, paint and sculpt. It doesn't hurt too much to try to sell things. Though I am noticing the difference in the fees EBay charges. You think it isn't too bad, until you get hit by all the fees later. Then you wonder WHERE you are going to come up with the dollars to pay for THAT. And then wonder how you can afford to any the bills, let alone do frivolous things. I still will be offering drawings, paintings and prints of the views we hope to see again in Oregon.
I finally have several photos and drawings I've done, ready to build up a collection of special Oregon art and images. To earn money to help make a vacation home possible. We haven't been home since the year our daughter ws diagnosed with JRA. And now are finding ther eis much more to her health issues. She is still stuck at home. And still unable to attend school. Her joints are swollen and the pain is great. Each item I make and offer, that has to do with oceans or Oregon specifically will be going towards building up a vacation fund. I just hope we don't need to have a minivan or other large vehicle. As all we have are two sedans. We can't afford another large debt or expense right now...
Please, be generous, I will be happy to throw in extras for those who are kind hearted.
I have never wanted to share our trials and challenges with others. But I need to be able to stay home to be with my daughter.
I work with what I can. I am a self taught artist. Oh, sure, I took art classes in Jr. High and High school, but I had wild talent. I didn't know the first thing about presentation, or how to get my things to work out the way I really wanted them. I started going to guild meetings just before I was juried in in 1995... while in Corvallis, OR, and learned a bit from the wonderful members there.
My family is very artsy craftsy. We work with clays, paints, wood, leather, yarn, textiles...whatever we can, to be creating something interesting, or of beauty.
We try to work hard and do the best we can.
If you see something you like, but want a little different, feel free to contact me, I will be happy to arrange a custom listing, so you can have just what you want. I am an artist who loves a challenge. And loves to create things that reflect my love of life, of the world, and of the imagination God gave me.

I now prefer payments through RME(Revolution Money Exchange) as they don't charge me any fees, and actually GIVE you money to use them. Yup, they REALLY do give you $25.00 in your newly opened account with them. I got mine deposited into my account with them the very day I registered. And now am trying to decide WHAT I get to use it for...Hmmm, trying to get other Sellers here to accpet it, so I can buy from them, isn't a bad idea. I still accept PAYPAL payments, but may set a minimum as they charge higher fees now. Just like their parent company, EBay.
If you want to use your RME account to pay for my items, be sure that you have set it up within 3 days BEFORE auction close. That way, you can arrange your funds and, hey, even use the cash they gave you to make your purchases!!! Cool, right? More and more artists I know are starting to use RME as their main accepted service for accepting payments. It is safe, really safe, and has many benefits for using it. And if you click on one of these buttons, you also help me, as well as yourself!

I will be offering prints of some of my past artwork here as well, some fantasy, some still lifes, landscapes, etc. If you see something you want, bid on it.
Life is too precious a gift to not relish the beauty of it.
I hope that my love of God, life and the miracles that are in my life may show in some of my work.
