I have been a developing, self taught artist since I was 10 years old and won my first art contest in the fourth grade. My high school art teacher once said, I was the best natural artist she ever saw, and she had been teaching a long time. God just seemed to give me a talent to be able to do well at almost any form of art. I have drawn in pencil, pen & ink, charcoal, pastel; painted in oils, acyrlic, and water color. I have sculpted in clay, and raw hide but my true calling is carving in antlers and ivory. I always have a similiar style, in all of my art, but the inner spirit of the sculpture truly calls to me; when I carve, my passion, for the antler or ivory does not subside until its spirit is released, set free, in the form of a one of a kind piece of art . My joy comes from the art but also from the enjoyment of see a person connect with one of my pieces on a level that no one else does, its as if I had made that carving just for that one person.  I believe that that is art, and what it means to be an artist; where no one likes the same piece but all the pieces call to someone. I love to do custom pieces the most, I like to take an idea that someone has for a sculpture or piece and tweak it with my own inspiration and bring it to life for them.

I come from a family of 12 children, of which I am the oldest. I have a wonderful husband of 26 years and three grown children, I have two granddaughter who are my new daughters and I am a stay at home mom again. I have put my life long dream of being a professional artist to the test and I am mastering that dream. I have been an emt, a 911 dispatcher, an executive director of a domestic abuse hotline and many other things in my life but artist, wife and mother make me the most proud.
