What Happened?
FIRE SELL-OFF! Liquidating my collection... |
On thursday June
26th 2008 a fire burned down my parents garage. In it was over 40% of
my collection. All I
have left are most of my loose cars. Unfortunately most of what I lost,
was the stuff I had not pictured on my site yet,
and now I never will be able to.... Among the lost pieces are the
following sections that will never get the major update
they needed... Blisterpacks (200+ lost), Playsets(100+ lost),
Semi Trucks (300+ lost), Monster Trucks (approx 200)
and Aircraft (1,800+ lost). I still have the majority of my loose
cars, but some of the cars I didn't have loose, just
in blisterpacks... I also lost my Hot Wheels collection from the
mid '90s, some trading cards, and a lot of personal effects.
Also lost in the
fire was my parents vast collection. They operated an antique store in
the area for 20 years, before the Nisqually earthquake destroyed their
building. Everything from that store was in the garage when it burned,
along with their huge collections of Hot Wheels, Ertl banks and
American Muscle, Johnny Lightning, Tonka, Nylint, Structo, Matchbox,
Racing Champions, Brewerania, Baseball Cards, Barbies, vintage
Fisher-Price, Madame Alexander, Beanie Babies and Buddies, Childrens
Reader Books, Precious Moments, Memories of Yesteryear, Carnival Glass,
Black Amethyst, and thousands more including paintings, antique
furniture, motorcycles, and even a Firebird. The loss is staggering....~Donaldjr

At the end of August there is a larger flea market in Packwood Washington that I will be attending to try to sell of the majority of my Micro Machines. I don't see the point is listing the common stuff in lots just to get 3/$1 and pay ebay $.60 of that $1. If you are in the area, come on out and enjoy the fresh mountain air and hundreds of other vendors! It in the Cascades on Hwy 12, a nice scenic drive and only a couple hours away from Seattle. Most of my "more desireable" castings like Corvettes and Mustangs will be $1 each, other cars like the Chrysler concept cars and Bugatti EBs will be $.50 ea or 3/$1.
After this flea market, I will try listing more on eBay... most likely waiting for another listing sale :P
