I just received the most awful news last night, my paternal grandfather died last night at around 9pm. Grandma was sleeping already and Grandpa was just getting to bed, there was a nurses aid, that said he said he just wanted to sit there for a moment, and then he slumped over. :(
My aunts & uncles & my father have been notified as well as us grandkids and great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are being made as I am writing this very sentence! Tentatively the wake, and funeral will happen this coming Monday & Tuesday, but relatives will be in town & staying at my home, so I will not be able to attend to my eBay listings until the later part of next week. Approximately on 05/15/2008. *sad sigh*.
I know my grandfather is in a happier place now, but still it is so sad, I wonder how long grandma will last without him, they are truly soulmates! And always supported each other in times of crisis, just like something like this event.
Ok about me - I am pagan, and have been on the pagan path since I was just 12 years old. I was raised in a predominantly Catholic environment. My parents and two of my siblings are still Catholic, and one is open in her religious beliefs. She believes in both paths and think they compliment each other well (though my father disagrees!) as she understands they both carry similarities between them. And.... she is right! They do, but they also have big differences. I myself think of my beliefs in a more ecumenical way. I have studied many different religions and noticed there are lots of similarities between them. My honest-to-deity understanding about religion is based on the story of the Tower of Babel. Where people were trying to build a tower to their creator, and then when the tower got too high - their 'creator' made them all speak different languages so they could no longer communicate and finish their tower.
Religions - to me - are just like that - no not people trying to build a tower, but like the languages - there are many different religions, but all have the same sense of morality, all have a creation story, all say humans are created by some type of "creator", and we all have a spark of divinity within.
Anyway - enough about my spiritual beliefs. This is a selling format! I say ECLECTIC - because of all the stuff I am listing here. Some of it will be pagan-related items, others will be Christian-related, some of the items I am selling belonged to other family members, or friends who know I have an eBay account.
In recent knews, I discovered I need to have orthopedic surgery on my left wrist, to remove an 'extra' bone, that most likely happened when I took a fall last November to catch myself in hopes of not landing on my knees or worse my head! That trauma caused a bone in my hand - just below my thumb to chip off a section. I naturally didn't think anything of it, because I am pretty accident proned anyway, and although I was sporting a nasty bruise on my left hand in the thumb area, as the bruise went away so did the pain.
But now I need to have surgery, I have no insurance, so this is another avenue of hopefully saving the money I need to have the operation. I have done some research and it is going to cost about $10,000 for Orthopedic surgery on my wrist.
Naturally, I am selling everything that is in my home that I haven't used in a year or more so I can try and make up that amount. I am also saving as much as I can, eating out less, and trying to reduce my trips when driving (which with these gas prices, online shopping and paying for the postage is getting to be cheaper than going to the store! Which is just sad!)
I will eventually be listing more jewelry, some haunted, some not, some hand-made; some issues of RPG back issues, some cotten chenille yard, tarot bags, mojo bags, most of my pagan library, possibly a few items of clothing, and some old appliances that still work, that I just haven't used, Christmas/Yule decorations, craft books, so much to list eek! |
I so feel like I am constantly repeating myself, but being not everyone reads every paragraph or word of a listing I feel I must leave the same information here: Here it goes:
All items sold are original products unless otherwise noted.
All items sold have mandatory insurance. The $1 shipping and handling helps me in defraying the cost of boxes, special wrapping paper, or bubblewrap, envelopes, paper, labels and ink to print labels, plus delivery confirmation, and going to the post office if it is First Class International envelope rate, as Paypal, doesn't list that option in their shipping options. If I figured it all out, it would be a lot more than a dollar, but I know people want items for less - after all we are in a recession! Most items sold are picked up by the USPS postal delivery personnel usually on Saturdays or on Mondays afternoons, unless I have to go to the post office because an item is being sent First Class International.
All items are AS IS - NO RETURNS - so please read auction information carefully and ask questions if you need answers to questions that were not answered by viewing the auction itself. |
