INTRODUCTION TO ELECTRONTEK
FIRST STATE EXPRESS
Hello, my name is Hugh Lafferty, I am from Delaware, The First State, a great place to live. I am a Radiological Technologist at an 1100 bed Level One Trauma Center. I play golf and run my trains to relieve my stress.HOW I GOT STARTED.
I got my first train set when I was 10, an American Flyer. Since then I have had Lionel, LGB, Bachmann, and MTH. I have had all scales from N to G. I have a permanent platform in my basement, which my wife helped me build. We are changing and adding to it all the time. My wife, who is an RN at the same hospital, overlooks all my projects and enjoys it as much as I do. We currently have all Lionel O and O27 gauge, which we plan to enlarge. I was introduced to E-Bay by a friend. I have met a lot of nice people on E-Bay and I enjoy browsing the train site and conversing with other E-Bayers. My wife and I have been nascar fans for many, many years. We have been to a lot of tracks and have seen many of the great legends of racing. We live 5 miles from the MONSTER MILE, Dover Downs, we go there every year and it is always as exciting as the previous years. There is nothing more exciting in racing than smelling the fumes of burnt tire rubber, the slipping clutches, the high octane Sunoco, and hearing the thunderous roar of these mighty 800 + horse power machines rounding the 4th turn on the final lap come screaming down the front stretch heading for the finish line. The fans are standing , yelling for their favorite drivers, cussing Tony Stewart and Kyle Bush and spilling their budweisers all over each other. Our favorite driver is Dale Jr, (I think) but we really like them all. We are going to the truck race May 30th, we will be sitting at the start finish line in the Richard Petty Section, maybe we will see you there. We have over 150 Nascar diecast collectables in our collection which includes 20 1/18 scale, 80 1/24 scale, 7 1/32 scale, 12 1/43 scale, and 30 1/64 scale. At least 90 are chevys, the king of the tracks, LONG LIVE THE CHEVYS.
