Just hung up the phone with Jim...

his mother called to let him know that his Dad just passed away about an hour ago. I have never heard him sob before.  I feel as if my heart has been ripped from my chest!  Jim's parents live in Arizona.  Please, each of you who happen to read this,  add a prayer for me to somehow find a way for him to attend Dad's funeral on Saturday.   One small miracle for a man who gives selflessly, has taken wonderful care of me and our family the last ten years and never once complained, has worked 10 to 18 hours or more a day to maintain his small company and keep our family fed.  I am more than happy to give up all I have left in the world for him, expecially as I know in my heart he would do the same.  Thank you so much for your prayers, ... Hello to all  ! I am extremely sorry I've been unable to post this until today!  Wish I had time to fill all the details  in. I swear I'm playing a lead role in a cross between a soap opera and the Jerry Springer Show!! I will write a form letter with the details and email it to pretty much everyone I know that doesn't live in a 100 mile radious by Thursday. Easier for me. I miss my sanity and wonder why I complained before. 

After almost 9 years of battle, my worker's comp. insurance is finally paying to send me back to college.  All came about within a matter of a few weeks so had little time to prepare.  Much more difficult and time consuming that I remember 27 years ago!  College is 67 miles round trip so with travel time, homework, and just the housekeeping basics I did not have even a moment to jump online to check my emails - a grand total of 782 emails for the week not counting the 1033 I deleted from my spam folder!  Should be able to start settling into a routine again this week. 

I'm posting a link on my About Me page to an Oregonian newspaper article that will help explain one of the situations we are dealing with as of last Saturday night. Dave Rieman is an extremely close friend for over 8 years. He ownes our home and property. 6 years ago he offered us a lease option - with business after 9/11, my surgeries, and everything else - we have just been extending the date each year.  If he is charged in the deaths we could all loose everything!

The Murphys, You know , the ones with the Law?

Well, we are the ones that the Murphys Feel Sorry For!

  This year has been one of the craziest Ive ever been through! 

      I am going to redo what I originally wrote for this page - at least as close as I can remember.  Many a dusk-till-dawn spent at this keyboard - too many not to try to preserve the thoughts and feelings that could possibly set me free of myself.  Being and living with  obsessive-compulsive disorder is NOT an easy thing!!  How many nights I have spent lying awake worrying because I washed the table after dinner and not the chairs or because I did not have time to move all the piles of weeds I pulled during the day to the brush pile before it got dark, or because I did not pull the stove out and clean behind it, or.... 

   I had to leave another nasty message on the answering machine at my worker's comp insurance company again today!  I was so angry! Why don't they at least call me back or something!?  It has been 5 years since my injury and once again my right knee hurts so bad that I can barely walk!  The pain is spreading and now generates in a spiraling pain from my knee up to my hip as well as down and into my calf.  The patella grinds and pops constantly.  I can barely get around myself and I have a 3 year old grandson to keep up with and to care for, a 2 and a half acre yard and a huge modular home to keep on top of.  Had to send my 260 lb Great Dane to my son's home in the city as he does not realize how big he can be at times and my husband is afraid that he will knock me down sometime while I am in the lower property or something (he did a few weeks ago but I managed to finally make it back to the house) especially while he is on the road or out of town and if my grandson is taking a nap or at a friends home nobody would find me for a while.  I miss that damn dog so much!!  Grandson misses him too!!  Cat does not though!

   I have had enough!  It's been almost two months since my doctor said that I needed surgery again.  I still have not been able to get hold of anyone from the insurance company.  I keep leaving messages but they never call back.  Jody at the doctor's office has been calling a couple of times a day and they don't call her back either!  I called the Worker's Comp Ombusman Office in Salem and they finally called me back!  Said that they will do what they can to help with the insurance problems but they can't get hold of anyone either so they leave messages as well.

   I cannot take this anymore!!  My grandson has seen me cry enough!  Everything is beginning to take it's toll on his poor little mind as I am finding harder and harder to hide my pain and frustration from him.  He tries so hard to do things for me, he has given me hundreds of hugs and kisses to make me feel better and to make my boo boo's go away!  How much more can a three year old take? 

     I am calling the insurance company in a minute and I am telling them that if I do not have an approval for my surgery (the 3rd one!!) by Monday morning that I will call every television, radio, and newspaper in a 500 mile radius and I will be on her office doorstep with a shot gun.  Not to do anything to her or anyone - but to blow my own brains out in front of her so that maybe she could then understand what she has put me through and what she does to injured employees as she sits and daydreams or paints her nails at her desk, as she lies to them, their doctors, their attourneys, and to herself (she has admitted to lying and to delaying the processing of my claim to the worker's comp board).  Maybe then she could see how delaying a single day can destroy a worker and their entire family!  It would be different if I had hurt myself on purpose or done something irresponsible to aid in my injury but I had not!!  Because of someone else's ignorance and lack of knowledge on following proper safety procedures I will now be disabled and in constant pain for the rest of my life!  I have worked, sometimes two and three jobs since I was 9 years old!  I am only 42 and a diagnosed "workaholic" who now cannot work in the same capacity as I have all my life.  Now I will have to sit behind a desk (can't even do that longer than half hour to hour at a time!).  I am going to lose my mind because of someone else's carelesness!!  And the insurance company treats me as if it was all my fault!  I cannot believe the hoops they want me to jump through and the f$#@%% waiting game that they expect me to play!  All I can say is I hope that this time they will take me seriously!

       Well - I finally got listened to!  Too bad it took me having to practically kill myself to make it happen!  Thank you Lord for answering my prayers!

   I have my pre-op appointment with my Orthapedic surgeon, Dr. Grewe on Monday,  After that I have to be at Good Sam Hospital at 11:00 to pre-register for my knee surgery on Wednesday.  Wish me luck!

   The last surgery went o.k. but after 9 weeks in a wheelchair and 21 weeks of physical therapy my surgeon has decided that I need another surgery!  I am still unable to stand without holding onto something  (thank God we have a counter to hold on to in the bathroom!), I still cannot walk longer than a few minutes without pain, and I still have to climb stairs one at a time.  My handicapped parking permit expired last month and trying to shop after parking in the North 40 and walking the distance the store or the mall, by the time I have finished with my shopping and make it back to the car I am almost in tears.  Try to find an electric cart this time of year!?  So I am supposed to be scheduled for my fourth surgery the second week of next month - January.
