Elsewhere Vintage is made up of Kristine & Robert... shown below with their wee blond terror & Elvis in Las Vegas.
When you buy from Elsewhere Vintage, you are helping a small family make a difference. Your purchases help Kristine to be at home more for Gwyn, the wee blond one, instead of sending her off to daycare. Our Family thanks you. :-) |
Payment & Shipping
It's VERY important that you respond to my emails within 3 days. If you're going to be out of town, please send me an email when bidding to let me know. Payment must be received within 7 days of auction's close unless other plans are made. I don't like to do it, but I WILL leave negative feedback for those who deserve it. Fortunately, I've not had to do it often!
I accept the following payment options:
If you buy more than one item from me, you will get a much better deal on shipping per item. Often, I can ship 2 items for almost the same price-depending on weight. Trust me.. I do NOT make a profit on shipping and "handling". I'm not getting rich here in any way. Just doing my best to not get slammed on shipping costs, and trying to keep YOUR costs low, as well. I WILL charge a "handling" fee on breakable items. Again.. not getting rich here.. but do you have any idea how expensive bubble wrap is? Ha!
I generally ship once per week, sometimes twice, if I can squeeze it into my schedule. (eBay doesn't pay the bills... I have a "real" job, too!) I try hard to get my shipments out quickly, but sometimes life deals strange turns and I am unable to get to the post office on my normal day. It happens. Not often... but you never know. If it's important that your item be somewhere by a particular day (say.. for a Birthday, anniversary, Valentine's day or whatever) PLEASE be sure to let me know so that I can make it top priority!! Thanks!
Insurance is totally optional, but I do suggest it for more expensive/rare items... Either way, you must realize that I cannot be responsible for items once I ship them. Once they're out of my hands, they're REALLY out of my hands!
Elsewhere Auction policies:
I'm really fastidious and over-exaggerated when I describe the flaws on my items! Please understand that these are VINTAGE items and have generally been used unless otherwise stated. Most people who buy vintage know and understand that these items are NOT new, have been worn, and often show some signs of it. Also, please understand that I AM human and will make mistakes, but it's unlikely that I will miss any major flaws. I do my best for you, and I think my feedback reflects that.
ALL levels of condition are for the OVERALL condition, with any noticeable flaws fully stated. If something is in overall MINT condition, but has a small ink spot or something, I'll likely downgrade it to "Very Good condition with a small ink spot". MY LEVELS OF GRADING INCLUDE:
Remember, I always want you to be happy, which is why I disclose EVERYTHING I can about all my lovely items, but I cannot guarantee that a particular defect is repairable. I do not have most items dry cleaned, as I would then have to pass that cost onto you. I generally leave all such repair and cleaning decisions up to the buyer.
As with ALL vintage clothing, it is best to rely on the actual measurements, rather than the size stated on the label or tag (which I will also provide when available) Sizes ran MUCH different in the past than we are familiar with today.. and even today's sizings vary wildly from company to company. And PLEASE don't rely on eBay's new "sizing chart"! It's totally useless on almost every level-- ESPECIALLY for vintage clothes! I take most measurements with the item laid out flat, and will also provide measurements for elastic in it's relaxed, unstretched state, as well as moderately stretched (such as items with an elastic waistband). Also, for best fit I suggest measuring a similar item that you know fits you well, rather than against your own body. You must allow room for proper movement and fit, as well as putting the garment on!
All statements concerning when an item was made are generally estimates based on style, material and impression. If I have VERIFIED proof of an items age, I'll be sure to mention it. I do NOT guarantee when an item was made. If you have any questions about details that may help you determine age better than I can, please email me BEFORE bidding.
I take great pains to give you a detailed and accurate description of all my auction items. Please make sure to read the WHOLE description (including
condition statements, shipping estimates, pictures, and MEASUREMENTS) when deciding to buy these (or any) items, as all items are NOT returnable unless I have totally misrepresented the
item's condition or size! If item doesn't fit you correctly (measurements sometimes can't tell the whole story. I SHOULD fit into pants with a 30" waist and 34" inseam.. but sometimes
they just aren't "right" on me. Everyone is different. Every garment is different. These are the risks we take!) I am more than happy to provide you with email copies of the digital
photos used in my auction, so that you can relist it yourself.. but you must email me within 3 days after you get the item as I generally erase the pics quickly to make room for more!!
Remember.. I want you to be pleased with your purchase from Elsewhere Vintage and to buy from me often! I have no intention of trying to mislead you or
deceive you into buying my items. But I also must protect myself from the many unscrupulous buyers out there!
Thanks for you time and understanding,
Kristine & Rob & Gwyn (& Fidget & Blur & Spike)
