Who I Am ...

You know how it is. Your just an average teen looking to fit in and what's one of the easiest and best ways to get a leg up on the "competition"? Well, clothes, of course. I must admit I've always been a fiend for fashion. Advertising was set up for people just like me - if it had the expensive name tag ... I wanted it. Well, for a teenager, it's not easy to have the best in that arena unless you had some unlimited money tree growing in your backyard. I grew up in a primarily Italian East Coast suburban town. At 5'7" as a Freshman, I actually was one of the tallest in my school. (Italians are gorgeous, but tend to be a bit on the shorter side). So, in the midst of Bruno's, Saliani's, Guarino's, etc. ... I sat in class as the teacher stopped dead at this long impossible to pronounce Polish last name. That was me ... I didn't have much to help feel like I fit in (outside of a vowel at the end of my last name) so, clothing became the one thing I tried to use as a way to fit in. I remember a scenario where my Mom (she really tried) had bought these blue pinstriped pants with matching vest (sorry mom ... but, well let's just say I really wasn't feeling the whole pinstripe thing). She was, I guess offended I had never wanted to wear the outfit and, when she expressed how she felt, I felt guilted into wearing this lovely outfit to school. Well, everyone knows pinstripes will make anyone look at bit taller. When you're a teenager trying to find yourself, feeling pretty much like a giant as it was, the pinstripes were just NOT cutting it. "Ground just open up and swallow me," was pretty much the pervading thought of the day. UGH!

Well, I've made it through that period of my life somewhat unscathed and here I am now with 3 kids of my own ... 2 teenagers (a 16 year old girl who lives and breathes for Urban Outfitters and Free People and a 14 year old boy who refuses to dress in anything unless it's from A&F or Ruehl) and then there's my LIMITED TOO 9 year old princess. Yes ... I admit it! I have created monsters. All of them have some seriously expensive taste and being I myself have what they call a "passion for fashion", I have spent way too much money on clothing that oftentimes ends up being worn twice before it's suddenly "out of style". What's a parent to do?? That's when I started looking at this site that I kept hearing about ... eBay. Well, I'm addicted. I made some purchases and I've just recently started trying to sell my own stuff. It's my goal to eventually own my own store. After my tremendously rewarding career as a stay at home mom for that past 16 years, it's a bit intimidating to start something new ... but exciting at the same time. So far, I've been getting coaching classes through a great company and I'm learning a lot. I can't wait to see where all this ends up taking me. I don't believe I'll be disappointed .....................
