Turrialba is a land of poets, and the aroma of its coffee is shear poetry!
Turrialba known as the " little Switzerland, has vast green valleys and
mountains reminiscent of Europes enchanted Switzerland. This particular
region located in the Atlantic watershed has a longer rainy season than
other regions throughout Costa Rica. The average total rainfall in Turrialba
is a staggering 118 inches in a 245-day period. This effect causes the
coffee cherry to grow to a very good size, and the cherry ripens earlier for
a extended coffee season starting July to late December.
 Fincas
Las Colonias plantation (Cafetal) is devoted to produce the finest premium
organic coffee beans. Many devoted coffee authorities have considered this
HGA bean
(High Grown Atlantic 900m-1200m) to be the most meticulously
maintained plantation. We are emphatic about our pruning methods, and the
development and pursuit of the best Bio-mass material for fertilization. FLC
coffee avoids all chemicals for fertilization and we are exclusively using
natural means for our coffee tree development. We are also in direct
consultation with the famous C.A.T.I.E University located in Turrialba.
We have instituted our own micro-processing facility giving us total control
of our coffee, also we have developed our own sun drying area allowing us to
see the perfect
maturation of the beans. Our belief is that the sun drying method emboldens
the bean for a more robust flavor, and results have
sure proven us to be correct with our mindset. We have been blessed using
our own roasters both here in Turrialba, Costa Rica, and the USA. We hope to
soon have our own roasting facilities in Japan and strategic spots
throughout Europe.
