We have been Life Partners and Business Partners for 45 years! We have been in Sales all of our Adult Lives, and love to meet new people and travel.
Sooo, in our twilight years, we decided to combine the two and start a new career!
Hey, Colonel Sanders did it!
We owned a Comic and Used Book Store in the 80's. When we lost our lease, could not find another location, and our kids were graduating from High School, we decided to move to a warmer climate, so moved to Sunny, but Dry Heat Arizona.
When we officially retired, on Social Insecurity, and a little more, we started selling our Comics, (that we had stored in a closet), that we had left over from our store.
That was so much fun we have been adding products and now are working full time. This is Retirement????
We started haunting Garage Sales and found that people just wanted to get rid of things that they no longer wanted, and sometimes those things were collectibles. Most of the time people just don't want to be bothered with the hassle of "doing the eBay thing".
We now go to a local Auction each week and find fun stuff to share with our eBay friends. When we get the items home, we clean and spray with disinfection. Then, we take pictures and write detailed discriptions to put on eBay auction or our eBay Store.
We have also found Beanie Babies, Cherished Teddies, Spiderman Walkie Talkie's, Lenox Ivory and Gold Elephant Tealight Holder, and are still "Garage Sailing", looking for more Comics and Treasures.
We are learning more about different collectibles every day, and every time we find a new "Collectible" we look for the latest book at our favorite "Used Book Store", or New, if we have to.
It keeps our minds and our bodies active, young, and it is fun to research the collectibles and to supply the collectors with their missing items
We take a lot of time and effort to research the items we put on eBay, to try to give our customers a bargain and still stay in Business.
We are very careful, to clean when necessary, weight the item with packing in the shipping box. We pack very carefully, (the way we would want someone to pack something be would buy) keeping in mind the weight and the nature of the item we are sending.
We purchased a good Digial Camera, stage the items the best we can (to get a good picture, we take sometimes a dozen or more), we try to write an interesting description and are careful to make notice of any defects in the merchandise, so our customer get exactly what they bargained for. We also purchased a good Postal Scale "from eBay", and at a bargain, too!
We are planning on combining our LOVE for Travel, and the desire to visit our children, and our ONLY Granddaughter, by traveling to Flea Markets and selling items there as well as on our eBay store. We just purchased a Travel Trailer, so are learning about that, too!!
And people think that school stops at 18 years of age. It never stops!! |
