I've been hanging around Ebay for quite awhile now, been in and out, selling a little at first, then buying a little. Now I'm back into selling again, this time I hope more than just "a little". Back problems have limited my ability in the "real world", so I'm trying to learn how to augment my income here in Cyberland, and maybe make a friend or two along the way. The continuing saga... Well, things went pretty well over the first month and a half or so of this great Ebay "experiment"...I have run into one little problem though, I've begun to run out of personal items that I'm willing to part with. I've attempted to implement a couple of new strategies to deal with this problem, both with limited success. The first thing I tried was to buy a boatload full of knives and stock them in "my store" . These are not $50 Gerber's or $100 Case or other fancy schmancy knife brands (although I do have access to those if that's what your into). My knives are simply useful. Some of them are pretty, others are task-oriented, all of them are functional, they'll do the job that they were intended to do as well or better than those fancy schmancy high-ticket knives. These knives are perfect for people like me, people who want value in every penny that they spend. I have tried to price my knives to make certain that everyone who buys one recieves the value for their money that they expect. What this means, in many cases, is that your final purchase price including shipping will be at or below MSRP for the knife alone! That's even more evident when you start purchasing multiple knives from me and the shipping discount kicks in. So if you like good quality, useable, useful cutlery. If you think of a knife as a tool and are more concerned with the way it cuts than the name on the handle, you've come to the right place!
The 2nd thing I've done recently was to join a wholesale marketing outfit to try and bring in a wider variety of quality products, which I'll be introducing into the store over the next days and weeks and months. This outfit is "ebay preferred" so you can bid and buy with confidence whether it be a sleeping bag or a computer system. My goal is to bring a quality product to my customers in a timely fashion and at a good value. So, that's where it stands right now, I'd appreciate it if you'd step into my store for a bit and look around and...as I said earlier...BUY SOMETHING!!!...please!
Still Later In The Year...It's been a tough couple of months but I've developed a few "regular" customers who I appreciate a great deal but I have no real way of letting people know ahead of time when I'm expecting new or unusual items in the store. I've started a semi-regular Newsletter to bridge that gap and to offer an early or at least a real-time look at items which may be new to the store or just which I may find interesting for one reason or another.
