The Wire-Wrapping Librarian
|
| I have always loved stones, particularly semi-precious gemstones. I longed to make something with these stones and learned how to make cabochons through a local rock club. Then I heard about the William Holland School.
Located in the north Georgia mountains, William Holland is a school full of mentors who teach what they know to willing students. It was here that I learned to wire-wrap jewelry. I will be forever grateful to Betty Baxter for her demanding way of getting our best from us! |

Hard at Work!
|
| Wire-wrapping is a technique of jewelry making that uses gold-filled or silver wire to wrap around stones or beads, or just around itself to make a piece of jewelry that requires no soldering, no strings, no knots. The jewelry holds itself together in a beautiful way, giving you pieces that are elegant and understated.
Most of the pieces of jewelry I sell are made from designs by Jessie Donnan, a teacher at William Holland. I haven't made my way through all her designs...yet. |
