I have lived in St. Petersburg, Russia, for 14 years, where I work in leadership development of college students and young professionals. For the last four years, I have been developing my business, Hansa Traders, through which I sell high-quality Russian and Estonian hand-painted and handcrafted items. I am enthralled with the Russians' ability to create gorgeous works of art in miniature, and Estonians fascinate me with their creative, whimsical flair! Many of my artist friends are animal lovers, as am I, so we regularly carry a wide selection of animal and horse art, including Russian hunt scenes, fox hunting, carriage driving, Arabians, Friesians, Thoroughbreds and American Saddlebreds. We also create a variety of dog art, including Borzoi, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, the terrier breeds, and many others. In addition, during the Christmas season I carry a range of Biblical art such as eggs and miniature churches and paintings.
I have worked with artists from St. Petersburg since 1995, and I began working with artists from Fedoskino over three years ago. One of these artists whose artwork I adore is Natalia Leonova. I love horses, and her horse art, whether in miniature or on the canvas, is stunning. I offer various mediums of her artwork on a regular basis. I also enjoy working with up-and-coming artists who paint a variety of subjects, and some of these artists are good friends of mine. I have loved being able to help some of them get their start, and others expand their horizons. That is a major part of what my business is about...helping young artists have an outlet for their work and develop their talents!
