Harbour Stamps is a USA based American Philatelic Society registered dealer. We have been selling stamps on eBay for nearly seven years, six of those as an eBay PowerSeller, and we have a positive feedback rating in the thousands. We have never received a negative feedback! Do we ever make mistakes? You bet we do - who doesn't? But when we do we go all out to put the matter right straight away. And that's why nobody has ever left negative feedback for us.

Our strong reputation, gained from selling a whole range of philatelic items from valuable collections to lower value items, ensures we get the best possible price when selling stamps for others. Almost all of our eBay auctions are listed on behalf of collectors and dealers who don't wish to go through the sometimes complicated tasks of producing the digital pictures and descriptions for eBay, and who have asked us to sell for them.

How much does it cost when you sell my stamps?

Our commission rate is a straight 20% of the final sales value on eBay. This is not cast in stone - lower rates can apply to high value collections, single items or sets. Our minimum starting price for any single lot is just $49.50, there is no maximum starting price, although of course items need to have a reasonable chance of selling at the starting price chosen. We can advise you on that. For larger collections we show up to 200 or more pictures - compare that to a traditional auction catalogue!

Remember that traditional auctions have a buyer's premium - eBay doesn't. To find out the real cost of selling in a traditional stamp auction, add the buyer's premium and the auctioneer's commission together. It's sometimes over 30%.

There is also a small listing fee of $4.95 per lot listed, to cover eBay's listing fees and other listing expenses.

I Want To Try Selling Stamps on eBay For Myself - Can You Help?

Yes. You'll find helpful advice on our web site at www.harbourstamps.com. We also publish a popular 52 page e-book, sent by e-mail as a .pdf  or .wps file (you'll need either Acrobat Reader or Microsoft Word to view and/or print these), and this is also available as a spiral bound printed book.
