See Them Both -- 2 Completely Different Hearts-Desires Sites:
Vintage and handmade linens add charm and character to your home, make unique and treasured gifts and show a special hospitality to your guests.
Little touches make a house a home. Enhance your table with a lovely runner or topper. Frame treasured collectibles with lacy doilies. Catty-corner a hanky on a little shelf. Line a tray with figural lace. Protect the child's dresser with a colorfully embroidered scarf.
Linen towels say "Welcome" in the guest bath. Fancy pillowcases and dresser scarves bring warmth to the bedroom. Damask and monogrammed tablecloths, placemats and napkins show your guests you cared enough to use the very best.
A gift of monogrammed towels or wedding hankie will become the heirloom of the future.
We collect most of our vintage linens from Connecticut estates. Of course, we are always on the look-out for your old favorites, Madeira, Normandy, Marghab, monograms, handmade and figural lace and embroidery. We choose each linen for its charm; many are one-of-a-kind, handmade to suit the homemaker's specific need.
The ambiance that handmade vintage linens bring to your home cannot be equaled.
About The Sellers
Hello, from Bill and Jane in Thomaston, Connecticut (famous for Seth Thomas Clocks).
Thank you for visiting our page. We want to do everything we can to make your auction and website buying experiences pleasant.
A bit about us----We're a retired machinist and proofreader who always LOVED estate and tag sales, antique shows and flea markets. As you might guess, that love resulted in an oversupply of interesting stuff.
Like many who went before us, we turned to selling as well as buying. As we grew older the charm of loading and unloading the truck grew dim. Whispers of online selling, beginning with Ebay, grew more alluring.
Eventually, there we were, with a brand new computer and a whole new world to enter. It wasn't easy getting our act together on the web---What they say about old dogs is almost true---but here we are.
The first step, of course, was eBay's auction format, a simple and fun way to display and sell almost anything. Going one giant step further, we learned website technology so that those who weren't comfortable with bidding and waiting would have a traditional buying experience. When eBay opened the Stores (instant purchase) format we were delighted and opened our second traditional buying website, Hearts-Desires at eBay.
We sell anything interesting, mostly antiques and vintage linens, and love doing it.
