"While I have a formal
art education, I find myself breaking rules more and more often and
certainly trying to "un-teach" a lot of the formal part of the education.
I just do what I love best, indeed, have to do...Create.
I am constantly inspired by life and my surroundings. I
find that abstract expressionism and experimentation suits me best though
I enjoy working representational as well. It depends on my mood. I use a
wide range of media including Pen and Ink, Acrylics, Watercolors, Colored
Pencils, Pastels, Collage, Sand, Found Objects, Homemade Papers...almost
anything I can get my hands on.
I live right at the door of Olympic National Park in
Washington State. The beaches, the mountains, the rainforests... perfect
place for isolation to create beautiful art.
The name of my studio is after my daughter, Heather Sky."
