Welcome to LAWS!
The Lakefield Animal Welfare Society is a NON PROFIT organization established in 1992. We operate a NO KILL Shelter mostly run by Volunteers but for the one paid Shelter Manager. LAWS is run strictly on donations, memberships and adoption fees. LAWS offers the best possible care for stray and abandoned animals in Lakefield and surrounding areas. Our Foster Home Program allows the animals to be cared for in a loving atmosphere until adoption or space becomes available in the Shelter. Emergency Veterinary care for the animals in need is also provided as well as Public Education on disease control and benefits of spaying and neutering. All our animals are spayed or neutered if old enough before adoption.

Check out our eBay Auctions! We are listing a variety of great items for you to bid on and help animals in need! BUT if you don't see anything that stikes your fancy and want to help, you can send a donation to---The Lakefield Animal Welfare Society, P.O. Box 9, Lakefield, ON, K0L 2H0, Canada. Donations over $10.00 will be issued a Tax Receipt in Canada only. If you are in Lakefield/Peterborough area please stop by our Charity Store called ALLEY CATS, located on Queen Street, Lakefield. Stocked will all kinds of treasures, all proceeds go to LAWS to help the animals in need. Want to Adopt a Pet? The Lakefield Animal Welfare Society is located on 2887 County Road 29, Lakefield, ON. You can't miss the Sign! Our Shelter Manager Dorothy would be pleased to show you around the Shelter. We are always looking for Volunteers and Foster Homes.
