More name dropping?  Okay….. Tim McGraw…. No, I didn’t grow up with him however I did date his drummer Billy T. Mason.  We went to high school together in Fairborn Ohio.  He was my first boyfriend and not a very nice one.  He took me to a school dance and left me there where I had to call my Dad to come get me.  I was so humiliated!

In the 1990’s I had heard through friends that Billy was trying to get in touch with me.  I didn’t think anything of it until I received an email from him stating he’d like to talk with me.  I thought, “What does this a$$hole want”?   I called and said, “Okay, you’re getting in touch with me because 1) you’re dying or 2) you’re an alcoholic and this is part of you’re recovery or 3) your conscious has been bothering you all these years.  He said he just wanted to apologize for treating me so badly.  I didn’t buy it…. I believe it was part of a 12 step program of some sort.

Here’s one more, Henry Winkler.  I met him at the Mall Motor Inn in Dayton Ohio in 1976.  Billy’s father was a photographer and working a private party that was held in Henry Winkler’s honor.  Billy and I got to go along.  During the party we kept our distance and didn’t have much contact with “The Fonz” except near the end when we got into the elevator with him for a photo.  It was just the three of us and Billy’s dad was there ready to take our photo.  “The Fonz” was a real grump!  He said, “come-on, hurry this up”.  I was very disappointed in his attitude as well as his short stature.  So much for the cool image he projected on television.
